As to the topic at hand, it's not so much amnesia as it is pragmatism. For many Filipino voters, the only concern they have with whoever is in power is this: will this candidate be able to feed me and my family? If the answer is yes, they'll willingly vote for that candidate. Everything is else is an abstraction to that kind of voter.
When the Nazis were in power, many Germans didn't believe for a minute that places like Auschwitz were merely manufacturing plants that supposedly made candles, clothes, and sausages. But few, if any, spoke out against the Nazis because their reasoning was that they too had to survive and that meddling in such matters as the concentration camps would put their own lives at risk. So they concentrated on getting enough food for each day and keeping a roof over their heads.
As harsh as it may sound, there are probably some Filipinos who would gladly welcome a Chinese invasion and occupation as long as they get three meals a day and a place to live.
By the way, Chevalier John, I have a question (as off-topic as it may be): if President Noynoy Aquino and certain members of his family (just Aquinos, mind you, no Cojuangcos) were sued for corruption after his term is over and they were to be acquitted in all those cases, would you laud that as a victory for justice or would you decry it as a mockery of justice?

If i were to choose between marcos and aquino i'd rather vote for marcos..... Just my 2 cents heheheheheh :D

How I wish maging presidente nga si duterte, pero sa dami ng papahirapan niya for sure uubusin lahat ng may ayaw sa patakaran niya ang pera impluwensiya at kung anu pa man pwde gawin wag lang manalo ang taong ito. Magaling lumaro si duterte mahirap, mayaman, rebelde pinakikisamahan niya and he's not afraid to sacrifice for the better good.
I hope mga caliber naman sana ni gordon, gibo or baka pwde na si manny villar.

Actually, I don't get why people make so much fuss about political dynasties. Kung magaling talaga ung kandidato or naniniwala ka na kaya nyang gawin ung mga sinabi nya, bakit mo hindi iboboto ng dahil lang may kamag-anak na siya sa gobyerno? Kung walang kwenta ung kandidato at binoto mo lang dahil "tatak Binay", un ang katangahan.

Personally, I've always been of the opinion that if a ruling family really cared about their constituents, the first thing they'd do would be to teach them how to live without them rather than making it seem like the people won't ever enjoy a bright future if none of their members was in power.
That would be good if we still lived in Eden (or your paradise equivalent), but we don't. Eventually, you just have to choose the best from the candidates available because whether you vote or not, someone's going to win it. I just find it absurd that some people are so against it.
How many doctors have doctor relatives? How about actors? Farmers? It happens just the same in any profession I can think of right now. If all things are equal between 2 candidates, then maybe yes, it would be better to get the one with no relatives in the government. But that hardly ever happens. And then, what's to guarantee that his relatives won't aim for their own gov't positions later?

It took just one serpent in Eden to cause Adam & Eve to fall from grace. In our world which--as you said--isn't Paradise, there are even more serpents and even greater temptations. And history has shown us that there have been entire families who succumbed to those temptations, sometimes with tragic results for the people whom they were supposed to serve.

Perhaps having political dynasties (where the power and authority are being vested to smaller group of people) deter the purpose of having a constitutional republic. Therefore the type of government if political dynasty are rampant can be referred to as oligarchy, more like the game of thrones.
However, since the Philippines is a democratic country, where people decide how the community should be run, it is the judgement of the people that dictates what type of government they want to have. Being the genious Filipinos are, people in authority capitalized the weakness in our government system adding the knowledge that poverty is the root of all evil, and here we are today.
In Politician's point of view: Why would I let them learn how to be a fisherman if I can provide them fish and feed them in my hand. If they learn, they could take my position, they can become better than me. Why would I let that happen?
In Citizen's point of view: Why do I need a new leader if the previous one is already good enough. Sabi nga nila, kung ano ang puno sya din ang bunga. Perhaps if I prefer the new one it will not be much of a change in progress. And, he is giving freebies, who would not want to have freebies.
Clearly political dynasties prevent Change, and in this ever past paced world that we have, the only thing constant is Change. That is why people make a fuzz about political dynasty. Imagine, Jolo Revilla, the son of the infamous Bong Revilla Jr. A former actor (who is not good in acting), a former Barangay Captain and now the youngest vice governor in the history of the Philippines. What can this history maker do to improve the welfare of its poor constituents whom because of lack of proper education voted for him. Dogs will not bite the hands that feed them. So the same goes with other political dynasty. They may have made an impression to thier constituents, but they are not the only people who can think. More likely, there is someone out there with a sensible idea to run the government in every year or every decade. Forcing Someone down the throat of the people because there is no other else is to much.
Yes indeed politics is just a battle of evil and lesser evil. But improvement should not be taken for granted.

i agree..bigyan lahat ng edukasyon pero dipende sa nagtuturo. at sa librong ituturo. kahit bigyan natin lahat ng edukasyon kung walang laman. balewala.

mayroon tayong 3 major tv networks at di mabilang na radio networks(opinyon ko). Ilan ba sa atin nakikinig ng radyo? Ilan ba sa atin nanood sa tv? ilan sa atin ang palagi sa internet? at ilan nababasa sa dyaro? ginagawa mo ba yun lahat ng yan araw araw?
Kung ginagawa mo yan lahat araw araw , swerte ka you have access to "unbias/pure" news. Kaya kahit bombahin kapa ng kasinungalingan, gimik, utuin kaman, at gawan ka man ng moro-moro... eh hindi mo makakalimutan ang sa opinyon mo ay tama...
