Nintendo "3DSappointing" 1st half of 2011
« on: October 26, 2011, 09:55:58 pm »
wow not even the powers of 3D Pikachu, 3D Mario and 3D Link combined save Nintendo for a DSastrous 1st half of 2001

hahaha naalala ko na naman yung thread na "Final Nail on the Coffin" of an upcoming rival portable gaming console, hindi pa nga yung lumalabas eh nililibing na sa lupa ang 3DS kahit na bagsak presyo ang 3DS

Quote
Nintendo's latest earnings report may be one of its most forgettable. The company posted a net loss of ¥70.27 billion ($923 million) this morning, in a report covering the first six months of the fiscal year ending on September 30th. That's significantly deeper than the ¥2.01 billion loss Nintendo posted during the same period last year, though Nintendo attributed the result, in part, to a strengthened yen and sagging demand for its 3DS console. Revenue, meanwhile, fell by 40.6 percent on the year, to ¥215.74 billion ($2.84 billion), as the manufacturer reported an operating loss of ¥57.34 billion. Things are looking so bleak, in fact, that Nintendo has decided to slash its financial projections yet again, predicting a net loss of ¥20 billion for the full year (ending in March 2012), compared with the ¥20 billion in profits it projected only in July. And, as Bloomberg notes, if these prognostications hold true, it would mark Nintendo's first annual loss in a full 30 years. Ouch. Check out the full report for yourself at the source link, below.

Nintendo POSTED a NET loss of ¥70.27 billion ($923 million) thats ¥68.26 billion more than the ¥2.01 billion they lost in the same months of 2010... what was your point its clear as day this is Nintendo's worst hit in 30 years and the 3DS' sales were not able to help nintendo avoiding the huge loss

FYI,

Consolidated Profit Numbers: Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft ( in USD; Games Division) . 1981-2009

Nintendo- $29,935,483,420 ( 29 Billion )
Sony- $1,674,413,200 ( 1 Billion )
Microsoft- -$9,113,000,000 ( 9 Billion Loss )

Source: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=57802

But, But.. you thought Sony is trouncing Ninty in games? Think again Sony fanboy.
Again, A Sony Fanboy is like the Special Olympics. Even if you win you're still retarded.

You would think that NInty will be disappointed w/ those kind of 3DS sales w/ dismal software? Ok they lost lets say 2 Billion upperhand, duh they still have 20+ Billion in the bank unlike Sony which has been warned by S & P Financial Agency for the fourth consecutive annual loss source: http://www.vgchartz.com/article/88416/s-amp-p-warns-sony-on-projection-for-4th-consecutive-annual-loss/ and Microsoft is still bleeding Money w/ the Xbox 360.

If anyone's going out of the hardware business, it's going to be either Sony or Microsoft. You wouldn't want losing that amount of money, wont we?

Again, No Trolling. Just Facts.

Idiot

ha ha ha ha

napansin ko lang noon glory days ng mga yan e uso ang Piracy therefore piracy itself help them create a free advertisement na would save them millions of dollars

ngayon wala masyadong piracy mahal pa ng mga CD nila and we are in a economic crisis most people play in their touchscreen phone at online games

if ever happen sony will be at disadvantageous here

Microsoft still have the Market share in Computer Software pwede naman nilang bitawan ang X-box

In 1963, Yamauchi renamed Nintendo Playing Card Co. Ltd. to Nintendo Co., Ltd.[14] The company then began to experiment in other areas of business using newly injected capital. During this period of time between 1963 and 1968, Nintendo set up a taxi company, a love hotel chain, a TV network, a food company (selling instant rice, similar to instant noodles) and several other things. All of these ventures eventually failed, and after the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, playing card sales dropped, and Nintendo's stock price plummeted to ¥60.

In 1966, Nintendo moved into the Japanese toy industry with the Ultra Hand, an extendable arm developed by its maintenance engineer Gunpei Yokoi in his free time. Yokoi was moved from maintenance to the new "Nintendo Games" department as a product developer. Nintendo continued to produce popular toys, including the Ultra Machine, Love Tester and the Kousenjuu series of light gun games. Despite some successful products, Nintendo struggled to meet the fast development and manufacturing turnaround required in the toy market, and fell behind the well-established companies such as Bandai and Tomy.

1973, OPEC dramatically raised the price in oil, which would eventually trigger the 1973 oil crisis. As a result, the Japanese economy, which imported over 98% of their requirements for oil, was forced to scale back on all unnecessary amenities in anticipation of an imminent recession. As a result, Nintendo received cancellation requests of the Laser Clay Shooting System from its clients, and, in less than a year, nearly all of its orders were cancelled. Having invested billions of Yen in their product, Nintendo's profits were cut in half, and they found themselves ¥5 billion in debt, in which Yamauchi would spend 7 years paying off.

Nes, Snes and N64 undoubtedly the good year of Nintendo

due to sagging sales, Nintendo halted GameCube production for a brief period in 2003 in order to reduce surplus units.[23] Sales rebounded slightly after a price drop to US$99 on September 24, 2003[24] and the release of The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition bundle. A demo disc, the Nintendo GameCube Preview Disc, was also released in a bundle in 2003.[citation needed] Beginning with this period, GameCube sales continued to be steady, particularly in Japan,[citation needed] but the GameCube remained in third place in worldwide sales during the sixth generation era due to weaker sales performance elsewhere.

diba sila sanay malugi ang nintendo????

Toinks again! They recuperated more than 20 fold for that.

Check again the consolidated Profits from 1981 to 2009.

Nintendo: $ 29 Billion dollars

Huh? Yun ba ang luge?

Again this is the first time ( FY 2012 ) that they are in the red.
In tagalog, naluge ng $924 Million for the first time in a Fiscal year.

Check your facts dude.

Looks like your standing up to your name sake.

Check your facts dude.

First ba talaga or the third time na malulugi toinks

paki check nga maigi dude

Kaya buhay pa ang ninty dahil mataas ang sales nila sa Handheld wala pa silang kalaban or natumba nila ang mga kalaban nila like wonderswan   mula 1980-2009 toinks

we are talking about nintendo company at that company along baka sabihin mo sa gaming lang or console lang

nalulugi it doesn't mean na bankrupt hindi proportional yan even a oil company sasabihin nalugi sila but doesn't mean bankrupt na.

bka intindi mo kapag nalugi=bankrupt he hehehehehehe

LOSS = LUGI but DOES NOT MEAN Company goes bankrupt

Toinks again!

Ahh.. Nintendo pala sanay nalulugi kung ganun?

Eh anu pa kaya ang Sony nyo?  After 17 Years in the video games business $ 2 Billion lang kinita? Uu nga naman Nintendo nga naman sanay nalulugi no? Kumita lang naman sila ng more than $30 Billion. Sanay nga naman maluge di ba?

Ayan tinagalog ko na.

My point is.. kung sanay na pala maluge eh bakit inde pa na babankarote?

Hmm..

Again a Sony Fanboy is like the Special Olympics, even if you win, you're still Retarded.

Nuff said.

I think this thread is meant to flame, this is a nintendo thread.  Would a sony fan boy love it if and when we post that Vita has struggling sales? Name me 10 psVita games worth buying and I name you 20 3ds games worth playing.

im still gonna hold out pa for a wii u. wala pa kasi definitive game to play there. although maganda din naman yng mga launch titles pero ill wait for either the next zelda or kung other 3rd party game na lalabas (waiting for bayonetta). and also waiting na bumaba pa ng kaunti yung price (20k for a deluxe from 25 last xmas)

now regarding 3DS again your preference, if you like the unit fine, if you like the VITA then its fine. if you can afford both why not. i do own both of them (2 VITA's and just bought a 3DS recently) got some games that are not available on the other so if you are a gamer you will enjoy both handhelds, if you are a fanboy, you will only enjoy 1 and bash the other. however if you are a pirate then it sucks to be you as psvita games and 3ds games cant be be played without buying the game (so far)
