I am really sorry djlove. I mean no disrespect. I have an idea on what you are trying to say. But I can barely understand it. Care to expound or at least rephrase? Sharing your thoughts is essential in this forum and it will be better if people can truly understand what you are trying to say.

ayon sa site na avoidharrypotter.com eh reading harry potter promotes witchcraft in children... anong say nyo dito?

Personally, I don't think it outright promotes witchcraft among children. For me, children sees it as a different from of fairy tale. It is merely entertaining to them. However, I do not deny the fact that it may subconsciously affect people who are weak to this kind of idea. Undoubtedly, Harry Potter opens up the world of witchcraft to a lot of people, and surely there will be extremists, young and old alike, that will be curious and will experiement on witchcraft. However, the number of people that will do such a thing will be insignificant (i hope). At the end of the day, most kids will only see this as a fairy tale; a fantasy story. No more, no less.

Anything and everything in this world, promoted or not, can influence us. It will always come down on our foundation as a person: education and upbringing. On children, although Harry Potter means no harm and does not promote witchcraft, it is still the parents' duty to make sure that thier children understand what they are reading. toast::

Harry Potter is fictional. Therefore, you should treat it like fiction. It's just a drawn-up story so that people like us will have something to spend our time with.

at ano masama sa withcraft, wiccan is a religion, you should respect other peoples religions, the thought of wiccans serving the devil is baseless and is only a popular thought among people that do not know anything about wiccans or withcraft in particular.

I can't see anything wrong with HP. In my opinion it encourages children to use their imagination. And through imagination kids can be more creative and inventive.

dmo na magagamit un imagination part ksi naging movie na un harry potter all the characters and locations have been given specific characteristics.

Do you see kids with cauldrons and flying broom sticks around?  The least you can see are kids dressed as the Harry Potter people armed with twigs and sticks.

The same with the crap they keep on throwing at The Da Vinci Code:

HARRY POTTER IS FICTION.

"Fiction" lang, hindi pa maintindihan kung anong ibig sabihin.

i agree with him

"FICTION" close minded people should first consult to thier beloved and trusted dictionaries. Ganyan din ang nngyari sa "Da Vinci Code".. maraming moralista ang nagreact..

eh bakit hindi nila sitahin yung mga "Fairy tales" nila? i mean Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella.. you can name more... hindi ba't may mga "Witches" and "Fairies" din sila with matching magic powers kuno.. and pambata pa yang mga yan ha?? haays...

Eto pala take ni Pope Benedict XVI tungkol dyan sa HP:

On March 7, 2003, Ratzinger wrote a letter to congratulate German writer Gabriele Kuby on her book, Harry Potter; Gut oder böse? ("Harry Potter; Good or evil?", ISBN 3-928929-43-7), about the literary phenomenon of Harry Potter, a popular series of books about a young student of magic. Kuby's book meant to prove that the Harry Potter books would "corrupt" the religious spirit of young generations and prove false the rumours that Pope John Paul II liked the series.

Cardinal Ratzinger wrote that "[it is a] very informed book [...] It is good that you, esteemed and dear Mrs. Kuby, enlighten the people about Harry Potter, because there are subtle seductions, that act unconsciously, deeply distorting Christianity in the soul, before it can properly grow". Kuby later asked permission to make this flattering judgement public, which was granted.
