[moved] JOB INTERVIEW TIPS AND TRICKS
« on: May 02, 2006, 11:10:10 pm »

What to wear?
It depends. Why?
papasukan mo, at absorb their culture...
shorts lng. I have a tip for you, make yourself na nkapasok kana sa company nyo, 1
good thing is, before the day na iinterviewhin ka eh puntahan mo yung company na
papasukan mo.Observe what the employees and the bosses are wearing, in that way
Wear accesories, good
(pwede nga takip lng ng pen i
hang mo dun sa pocket eh  ;)). And a plus, magdala ka ng notepad na presentable, in
this way makikita na ready ka nang mgtrabaho kahit right after the interview pa.
What posture?
Relax lng. Dont be stiff, feel free. A good posture is yung hindi ka magmukhang tuod.
Feel the chair, but dont be overconfident and over relax na parang nasa bahay ka
lng.Sit up strait and rest your hands, pede mo ilagay sa desk nyayung isang hand mo
(kng naka side position ka ha). Tapos yung feet mo naka runner's position, yun bang
naka READY, GET SET na position ng runners, in this way makikita rin na readyng
ready kana to start the job.
How to speak?
Again be confident. It's a plus na lahat English yung sinasabi mo at answers mo. But
the important thing is articulation. Yung alam mo sinasabi mo at yung may
patutunguhang mabuti ang sinasabi mo. Wag kang magkwento unless u were asked
to, marami pang nakapila sa labas.  ;D
What to eat?
At dont forget to
brush your teeth.

Other Tips:
With your looks and your
confidence. Alamin nyo rin backgrounds ng mga kasama nyo..And during the interview
always tell the truth, wag magsisinungaling. Kung may maitatanong sa inyo na medyo
alam nyong tagilid kayo sa totoong sagot, eh tell the truth parin but always do have a
     backup statement to that.

Lastly, wag kayong mahiya magtanong about sa sweldo..hahaha  ;D ok lng yun. But
say it in a more formal way.

Yun lng po.sana makatulong.Sarili kong opinion to.sana may maitutulong ito sa inyo...
dagdag lng din kayo kng may na miss pa me na points. thanks!

Thanks sir Higop,

Add ko lang, TINGIN SA ITAAS for guidance, if you are not an atheist.
The nature of a breakthrough is for you to stand on what you have gotten. On what's been
important to you,
what's touched you,
what's inspired you,
what's turned you on.
To stand on that value you've already created for yourself and look out at the possibility
for being alive that opens up.

Interview Tips

Company  wants to make sure you are prepared to make a positive first impression during your interview. Here are some tips to consider.

1. Prepare for your interview

Visit the website of the company and learn about
      their products and services.

Make sure you know how to get to the interview.

If you are unfamiliar with the route or do not know the destination, then we recommend that you drive the route a day early to ensure your navigation on the interview day. Don?t rely on directions or maps from
the Internet!

2. Be prepared when the interviewer asks: "Tell me about yourself?"

Focus your answer on your background and a few professional and personal accomplishments. Give a few specific references to previous successes or achievements for example: highly successful projects, ways you increased productivity, processes developed, systems installed, etc.

Be prepared to answer such questions as:

Tell me about your background and accomplishments.

How would you describe your most recent job performance?

   What are your strengths? Weaknesses?

What interests you about our company?

Bring a list of prepared questions to your interview.

This shows your preparedness and indicates you are mature, professional and interested. A lack of questions can be mistaken as lack of interest.

What would I be expected to accomplish in this position?

What are the greatest challenges in this position?

How do you think I fit the position?

3. Plan on arriving 10 minutes before your scheduled interview time.

4. Bring extra copies of your resume

5. Dress for success.

Men should wear a dark business suit, white shirt, conservative tie and polished black shoes. Women should wear a dress with jacket or professional pantsuit.

6. Show enthusiasm.

Make eye contact with your interviewer. Maintain a consistent positive attitude through your interview.

7. Ask for business cards from the people you meet.

You will need these cards for follow-up thank you notes.

8. Answer questions by relating them to the position you seek.

Present your attributes in a manner that demonstrates the benefits of your abilities. In other words show your interviewer what you can do for them. Mention specific accomplishments that show your abilities and determination to succeed in this job.

9. Be positive about your previous employers and managers.

If you speak poorly of your present or previous employers, then the interviewer may feel that you would be disloyal to them also.

10. If you would like to work for this client then ask for the job in the interview

Common ways of asking for a job are listed below:

"I'm very impressed with what I've seen here today. I have enjoyed learning about
your company and its products or services. I am confident I could do an excellent
        job in the position."

"I am very interested in the opportunity that you have outlined in this interview.
What are the next steps in the interviewing / hiring process for me?"

"I would really enjoy working with you and your company. How soon would you
want me to start working on your team?"

If you are not interested in the position or don?t think the interview went well then don?t let your feelings show. Often other positions become available that might be of interest to you and by leaving a positive impression you may be considered by them in the future.

Occasionally an interviewer, who is genuinely interested in you, may seem to discourage you as a way of testing your reaction. If you reach for the job it shows your true desire. If you don?t chase after the position it may indicate a lower level of interest.

Thank the interviewer for his/her time and consideration.
Remember to send a hand written thank you note (personal) or email a note of thanks (less personal) to all those that you met.

Nice post shadow braniac.

Mas maganda yata kng based on experiences ilalagay natin.

Ahmm e2 pa another simple tips:
mo to shake his hands. take note 'HIS', pag babae eh wag kang mauna mag offer
At in case na
napahiya kau dahil di tinaggap ang kamay nyo eh deadma lng, take a look at
his face and smile. Minsan kac tintest lng ang personality nyo jan. jajaja!

         yun lng muna.

At this time when napakastiff ang competition when it comes to applying for a job, dapat may alam tayong tips before presenting ourselves for an interview.  I want to cite an specific example about this, i work before sa isang mall and syempre maraming nag-aaply for saleclerk position, don mo makikita napakaraming applicants na college graduate when the position only require at least high school graduate.  Now depende na sa diskarte yon, if you possess lower educational attainment like college level ka lang tapos ung iba college graduate.  I tell you, during the interview, sometimes mas naiimpress kami sa mga high school graduate/college level and hired them kesa don sa mga graduates.

Just want to share this to all of you, we also have hirings for Department Heads and supervisors sa mall before, these positions require graduates of course and sometimes with previous job experiences related to the position applied for.  But i tell you based on their performances during the interview, sometimes we get to the point of hiring those fresh graduates over those graduates because he/she depicts the qualities we are looking for for the position and we prove it right on his/her actual performance sa store.  Kaya dapat we are prepared and confident during the interview for us to be able to clearly convey and express our thoughts and ideas of course based don sa questions ng interviewer.

Kaya mga spies na naghahanap ng trabaho or don sa mga magpapainterview, take the tips posted by HigoP and Sexsnician. Good luck sa atin lahat hehehehe.

Opo, tlgang depende yan. it depends din kng ano ang trabhong inapplyan mo.
If it is lined to and it requires you to speak english, then you have to speak english.
Like for example nag apply ka sa call center agency, then you have to speak english.

ang hirap na palang mag apply ngayon ano...during my days, halos hatakin ang mga taong nagdaraan sa harap ng company namin...putok ang saudi noon at halos naubos yung mga technical guys ng company namin (alam ko matagal na nga...) during my interview, nagpalipas pa ako ng isang buwan dahil katatapos pa lang ng esda revolution (now you know probably how old i am)...nakakatawa nga yung nangyari sa interview ko, im just wearing a polo shirt and maong, TADS pa yata yung tatak (made by Crispa)...yung opisina eh di pa tapos, wala ngang aircon so may ilang naka sando lang, im supposed to look for a certain supervisor for the interview, so nilapitan ko yung naka barong, ekk, wrong person kaagad ang napagtanungan ko, yung naka sando pala yung mag iinterview sa akin...i was not nervous at that time, tinatamad pa akong magtrabaho kahit 1 year na akong graduate, sarap magpahinga sa bahay at makinig ng DZRJ Pinoy Rock and Rhythm...nway, nagpakilala ako at pinaupo, 3-panel interview pala, syempre unang tanong eh "tell me about yourself", so pinakilala ko sarili ko, in tagalog, mahina ako sa english dahil engineering grad ako...dry una yung discussion pero nang masabi ko yung alma mater ko eh, nalaman ko na two pala sa kanila ay ka alumni ko, so naging relax yung tema ng interview kasi may common na pag-uusapan like nandoon pa ba yung terror na prof, yung seksi , yung uugod ugod...atbp...after the interview, binigyan ako ng test like how do you arrange six 6-ohm resister to get a 6-ohm output...buti na lang alam ko yung sagot, medyo ma-impress sa akin, next exam pumalpak ako, i was given a test with 30 questions. sabi sa akin read fully all the questions bago ko sagutan. So basa...it says that i only have 5 minutes to finish the test. ang mali ko, hindi ko sinunod yung instruction so sagot ko kaagad yung mga questions kasi 5 minutes lang eh...question 1. Write yung name to the upper top left corner. Q2. Place the Date at the upper right corner...as i was doing the 7th question, nilapitan ako nung isang supervisor, tinignan yung answer sheet ko...then sabi sa akin "di mo binasa lahat ng questions ano?", wala akong maisagot dahil hindi ko nga binasa lahat...napahiya ako...then sabi sa akin, read the 30th question. it says "after reading all the questions, do only questions 1 & 2...
