The Philippines only needs to beat two teams to advance to the next round. Argentina, of course, is almost impossible with our current skill level.
Senegal, however, is beatable. Their players are only athletic. Senegal plays like Qatar pre-2012, where the latter country was bannered by 5 quasi-Quataris, who many claim are actually Africans. A good system that is designed to dictate the tempo of the game can bring them down.
In my opinion, Puerto Rico, despite its abundance of NBA players, is realistically beatable. Just put Arwind Santos in the team and wait for the eventual Renaldo Balkman meltdown redux.
Seriously though, Puerto Rico lacks organization. Some pressure here and there and we might be able to steal one.
Croatia... I don't think we can beat them with the way they played last year.
Greece, on the other hand, has been very, very inconsistent. Despite their high FIBA ranking, they suffered humiliating defeats to teams they were supposed to beat. They defeated Spain, but lost to Croatia, Slovenia and - surprise surprise - Finland. Who knows, baka makasilat tayo.
Our biggest advantage is our underdog status. Teams tend to take it easy on opponents they know they can beat. But we're not that bad in basketball. If they rest on their laurels, we will capitalize on their lapses.
Dasal-dasal lang yan. Dalawang panalo lang kailangan.
