Series of books, parang Lord of the Rings on steroids. Ngayon pinapalabas ang first book as a TV series sa HBO and it's very nice, movie quality. I recommend it.

nicely portrayed and delivered... there are 5 books actually...book 1. a game of throne, book 2. a clash of kings, book 3. a storm of swords, book 4. a feast for crows, book 5. the hedge knight. i just downloaded the e-book from demonoid under the ebook section. just finished watching ep6.... can't wait till next episode. :applause

Nakakapanabik kaso medyo nakakabitin considering six episodes na ang lumabas pero character development-driven pa rin ang takbo ng show. Apat na lang ang natitira. Nakakagulat ang ending ng episode six sa kay Viserys, maganda sana potential niya, yun nga lang naudlot agad!

WTF! Two episodes in a week?! Himala. Kahapon ko lang napanood ang six na the other day lang lumabas. Nagmamadali yata ang HBO. Sabi online premiere daw ito exclusive yata for HBO Go subscribers. Oh well, can't complain about more Game of Thrones.

Maganda ang twist ng episode 7, palapit na ng palapit ang bakbakan. Nakakainit na ng dugo ang mga ibang character. Nagkakaroon na rin ng malungkot na kamatayan ng sayang na mga character, woot!

Haha undead nga ba yung nasa unang episode? Parang hindi naman kasi hindi pa nila naiintroduce ang supernatural. May mga dragon eggs nga pero hindi naman napapatunayan na tunay na dragon eggs yun. Hindi pa ako nakaabot sa puntong dun sa libro pero sa tingin ko hindi naman undead yun. Baka lost civilization lang mala-Dothraki, o di kaya yung babaeng madumi na muntik patayin ng anak ni Stark at Greyjoy. Witness kasi yun.

It's funny to read the book kasi personal perspective ng individual characters ang sinishare tulad na lang ng case ni Sansa na anak ni Stark, sa show parang ang sarap patayin kumpara sa badass na kapatid niyang si Arya, pero sa novel maiintindihan mo kung bakit ganun siya, ang side niya sa storya at bakit niya nagawa ang mga bagay-bagay. Hindi ko rin alam kung irereveal din sa show kung sino nagtangkang pumatay kay Bran sa kanyang pagkasurvive nang mahulog siya sa tower, parang plothole kasi yun na pinag-iwanan sandali.

Good 1st half, boring second. Kung ngayong season ang basehan, bagay talaga na Game of Thrones ang title.

Nakakatawa isipin na magpapakasal sina Tyrion at Sansa.

That's just a plot point to set up Sansa's "adventure" in the Kings Landing-centric Feast For Crows. Personally, I didn't like the 4th book (few did as the better characters didn't even appear), but I have high hopes for the next one to be released this July. That one's going to be a dandy, as the dragon's ascent is sure to cross paths with the Lord Commander and Champion of the Night's Watch - the two REAL stars of the series, in my opinion. At least, I hope their paths will finally cross at this point of the new age.
But, are we allowed to discuss spoilers here? I hope so, because this thread is about the books and not the TV series, right? And there are a lot of things - both settled and unsettled - that this planned sextet leaves for intelligent conversations.
If spoilers are allowed, perhaps we can edit the title so that the members who want to experience and enjoy the series in their own pace and time would be warned to stay away. God knows how spoilers can ruin one's experience, and we wouldn't want that to happen.

Patay na, minor character lang naman turing sa kanya sa libro, pero siya ang naging catalyst sa War of the Five Kings. Wala naman talagang main character ang libro dahil isa-isa silang may POV parts. Para sa akin ang matibay talaga na character ay kay Tyrion Lannister, kay imp, hahahaha. Makakabawi din yan sa ibang paraan pero no spoilers. Wait muna ng three years para sa season three/four kung aabot pa. Pero malabo yan kasi kasing laki ng budget nila ang Rome at Deadwood na hindi man lang tinapos ng mabuti dahil sa matinding gastos. :P

Actually may mga pinutol nga na parts at characters, binilisan ng konti sa episode nine dun sa pagkahuli kay Jaime Lannister. May mga importanteng mga characters ang sangkot dun at mga casualties sa libro na di na nabanggit sa show. Iba talaga kapag may time constraint, pakiramdam mo rush job, pero kung show lang napanood mo ayos lang. Si Khal Drogo sticker lang talaga yan, hahahahahaha, bwisit talaga.

Sa tingin ko next week iha-highlight ang pagkagalit ni Robb Stark sa balita tungkol kay Ned. Magkakagulo ang lahat ngayong nasa Starks si Jaime Lannister. Sa mga walang kwentang Dothraki naman tuluyan nang papanaw si Khal Drogo at tatakas sina Daenerys at Jorah somewhere. Magkakawatak-watak din ang Dothraki ngayong bago na ang kanilang khal. Imbes na lulusob sila sa Westeros magkanya-kanyang agenda ang mga yan lalo na't hindi sang-ayon yung kanang-kamay ni Drogo sa khaleesi.

Paano mo hindi magugustuhan si Sean Bean as an actor kung in real life kasing badass niya mga characters na pinoportray niya. Yun nga lang halos lahat nauuwing namamatay. Habang naghihintay, kaka-season premiere lang din ng Falling Skies ni Steven Spielberg sa TNT. Medyo intriguing ang setting. The usual alien attacks Earth story parang video game pero may potential din. Check niyo.

Ho-hum finale IMO. I think it should've concluded dun sa "Off with his NHead!" episode. Parang closing lang yung episode 10. Dapat double episode na lang yung season finale.
