Eye Candy: Steampunk Tech
« on: December 21, 2009, 12:37:58 pm »
I'm quite certain that some of my fellow Espiyas have come across objects like these in movies, television programs, and comic books. These are actual creations by modern-day artists, designers, modders, and tinkerers done in accordance with the steampunk aesthetic. Some work; some don't. All are, without a doubt, a sight to behold.

A few steampunk-style PC's.

(Desktop PC by Jake von Slatt of the Steampunk Workshop.)

(Andrew Leman's Electriclerk.)

(Datamancer's home-made laptop.)

How about some accessories for the PC's shown above?

(A Russian-made steampunk mouse.)

(A 16GB flash drive; it glows green from underneath the gears when in use.)

As Gareth Branwyn of Wired said: "If it's got 'punk' in the name, there damn well better be music involved."

(The Nautilus by Jeff Ritzman of Thunder Eagle Guitars.)

Steampunks need wheels, right?

(The Neverwas Haul art car put together by a Bay Area artists' group in the U.S.)

("BDRing" made a steampunk version of the Segway: the Legway.)
