Suspected kidnapper shot point-blank
MANILA, Philippines - Was the death of one suspect in the abduction of a businesswoman the result of a gunfight or was it a summary execution?
A video clip was sent to ABS-CBN News by a source who claims to have seen it on the internet.
The footage purportedly shows the scene after the gun fight between Davao City police and the suspects in the abduction of businesswoman Sally Vhua.
The video also shows the white SUV of the suspects on the side of the street, with a man in the back seat who was surrounded by at least 10 armed policemen.
The suspect looks like he is still moving and his hands placed at the back of his head.
A policeman kicks him, another approaches and a gunshot is fired.
The man then falls on the side of the vehicle.
ABS-CBN News showed the video clip to Commission on Human Rights Chairperson Etta Rosales.
"Oh my gosh...surrounded na nila!" she said.
"Iyung ganyang pagpatay, that's murder! 'Di ba? That's clearly murder," she added.
Another gunshot was heard in a separate footage taken by ABS-CBN Davao, as policemen tried to send media away from the scene.
A civilian was also seen placing an unidentified object at the crime scene.
