dami talaga taong minamaliit ang mga call center agents pero ako bilib ako sa kanila, ang gagaling nila mag english, minsan nga naiisip ko sana magaling din ako mag english tulad nila, yung tipong fluent, astig pag nagsalita e

1st time call center agent here. I'm yet to experience the things that you have mentioned TS. Thank you po pala sa Topic new, it gave me a boost in confidence. Kase tlaga dito sa amen, "AAAH" tlga yung reply nila pag sinabi mo na call boy ka  :D

Hindi naman sa minamaliit ko yung trabaho nila or ginegeneralize ko lahat, pero I myself have my share of sentiments against call center agents.

I've met people na kung umasta at mag-inarte eh akala mo kung sinong elitistang mayaman. Tapos yun naman pala eh "call center agent lang". Even in my own circle of friends merong mga hindi nmn talaga mayayabang at pa-sosyal nung una pero nung nakapag trabaho sa call center eh nag bago. I just cant help but wonder kung anung meron sa call centers. And to be quite frank, ung pag iinarte nila is way way way above their pay grade!

Bakit nga ba? Kultura ba sa call centers ang mag pa sosyal? Dahil ba malaki "daw" ang sahod? Gaano nga ba kalaki ang kinikita ng isang call center agent? 20, 30, 50k a month? Mayaman na bang matatawag pag ganyan sahod? Or feeling lang nila na mayayaman na sila dahil above average nga naman yan.

About naman sa discrimination sa Call Center as a job.. I think natural lang na medyo mababa talaga tingin ng mga tao dito. Oo, marangal at disenteng trabaho nga yan at masasabing financially rewarding, pero at the end of the day, its still just a secondary option. . Im sure yung nag sulat ng article na yan would rather be a LAWYER given the chance than stay as a call center agent. Im sure yung mga ka-espiya dito na currently working in call centers never intend to stay in that line of work for a long long time. And Im sure walang magulang ang nangarap na maging isang call center agent yung anak nila in the future. Tama po ba?

Lets look at it for what it really is. Its A JOB that pays rather well. Thats it. Its not on the same league as being a Doctor or a Lawyer. You don't need a licence, nor do you need any "special" knowledge or training to become a call center agent. Its nothing special so natural lang na hindi mataas ang tingin ng mga tao dyan. That being said, Its still a decent job. Wag lang sana maging masyadong "feeling" yung mga nasa industry na ito..

Live and let live...even someone who is selling fishball in a sidewalk should not be judged by saying fishball cart lang pala work nya, for all you know the guy might have sent his kids thru college, comes home after only 5 hours work q.time na and then satisfies his wife every single day. To each his own.

Don't you know that in HK, meron mga nagtitinda ng kalakal sa kariton on the streets na pag uuwi na ay sasakay na sa kanilang Volvo or high-end cars?  At the end of the day, it is not what we do for a living that matters.  As long as hindi ka nagnanakaw or hindi ka nandadaya sa kapwa, pwede ka magmalaki that the money that you bring home to buy the food for the table is clean at galing sa sariling pagsisikap.  In fact, even for some guys, yun kinikita sa kawalanghiyaan ay di pinapakain sa pamilya kundi ginagamit pambili ng mga palamuti ng buhay tulad ng sasakyan at alahas or inuubos sa mga casino at bisyo.

I used to work in a call center (TP MOA) and hindi tama na maliitin ang work nila kahit as agents lang, hindi biro ang magtimpi lalo na kung pinagmumumura kana ng kausap mo na alam mo namang hindi mo kasalanan pahirap din yung metrics na dapat mong abutin and yung politics inside & outside the office...

opinyon ko lang ha pareng legsman, mas marami yatang mga call center agents ang nangmamaliit sa ibang trabaho.

kitang kita naman  dun sa post... hwag daw ihanay sa factory jobs ang call centre jobs lol.

call centre agents are much like factory workers din with better pay nga lang.

naka linya din naman sila para kunin yung susunod na caller... tulad sa factory workers, nakalinya din sila para trabahuhin yung susunod na produkto.

Lahat ng trabaho mahirap. lahat ng trabaho deserves respect.. yung kinukwento ng author na tungkol sa work, dami pa mas mahirap dun.. almost all jobs naman  tardiness is always ground for termination. bakit ba masyadong i-glorify ang pagiging call center agent? they work 8-12 hours a day, guess what? ano nlng kaya sa ibang trabaho na 12 hours a day + on call?

Ang sinasabing discrimination lang naman e sa mga financial institution. Mahirap i apply ng loan kasi nga sa stability ng work nila. (at least yan yung reason ng ibang banks). so to the author, wag masyado sensitive bradier.. welcome to the real world. im sure walang kinalaman ang pag punta sa starbucks o pagiging bading o pagiging ma arte ng "ibang" call center agents.

Hindi naman lahat ganito..so not to generalize, yung iba lang :) kadalasan yung mga ganito yung mga bagong hire :D kahit naka sakay na sa jeep may ID pa.. hehehehe

I feel what you are expressing TS, just that jobs are all tough and rough. We dont have to be in the details such as working slaves and etc, coz this has been going on for years, and example are hotel operations staff (front office, housekeeping etc etc etc), at pagka sila nakakuha ng complains, harapan na yan. then again, trabaho lang talaga. My point is, we have got to RESPECT one another.

pero ganun pa man, nasa kultura na natin ang crab mentality and etc, sino pa ba maglalaglag sa pinoy, kundi kapwa natin pinoy diba?

no offense sa mga pro call center agents.. ung iba kasing call center agents matataas tingin nila sa sarili nila. (magaling mag english at fluent). ung iba pa di nag tatanggal ng id..hehe.. :D

ang sabi ni Mr. Evangelista minamaliit sila sa trabahong "call center lang pala" pero sila ba (di po lahat) hindi nila minaliit ang sahod ng ibang trabaho? kahit anong trabaho meron at meron masasabi ang taong mapanghusga.. hindi lang sila ang nagttrabaho ng 12hours a day, hindi lang din sila ang minumura ng customers, so walang reason para magwhine.. kahit anong trabaho mo, wala kang ligtas sa taong mapanghusga..

Salute sa mga taong nagwwork sa BPO industry! Hindi biro ang trabaho as call center agent ha.. I tried to apply before as agent pero di ako pumasa, bulok ata ako magenglish, sa accent pa lang dapat makuha mo na,hirap kaya nun lalo na kapag british.. we already migrated to new zealand and i admit ang hirap pakinggan at unawain salita nila with their accent.. nose bleed ako..hehe..

kamusta mga brad...ako po colcenter rin pero asar rin ako sa mga nagkukunwari.siguro and gusto lng sbhin n wg maliitin and trabaho..snsbi ko po sa inyo di lng English yan..kelngn m matuto ng mga technical aspects po..tska ako pgktpos k mkipgusap ng English s cx tgalog kaagad..Filipino prin tau..i am working in Microsoft tingn nyo ba English lng kelng dun..hindi po..marmi ksing posers s colcenter..kala mo angagaling mga sabaw nmn..kya nga mrming positions dun..just to tell guys n hndi naeexperience po na matira matibay sa work na 2..

Isa rin akong call center agent, totoo lahat yung sinabi ni TS na mahirap din yung pagdadaanan mo na initial and final interviews and in between that yung mga exams kung ano man yun (Versant hahaha). Medyo sumama lang tingin sa agents kasi kahit regularized na meron din kasing tumatalon talon ng company kaya pagdating sa application na required na silipin trabaho mo talagang mainit sa mata yung nagtratrabaho sa BPO.

Minsan din kasi agents din sumisira sa image like yung mga agents na tatawag din sa hotline tapos mag iirate hahanap agad ng sup call tapos mageenglish pero di naman kelangan. Mumurahin ka pa pero alam mong Filipino at gnun din trabaho nila.

So all in all masaya pa rin magtrabaho sa isang call center sa work ko minimum of 20 calls per day (meron pang invalid calls na 8-9 call so all in all valid mo 11-12 lang haha), di mo kelangan mag english, hawak mo restday mo kasi madaling magrequest ng weekends, isang linggo ka lang isang buwan na mag GY,  malaki sahod, compensation, benefits and perks and ang maganda dun pag gusto mo umabsent gagawin na lang na RD mo. Haha. Kaya I think its a professional work pa rin kasi nagbibigay ka sa SSS PAGIBIG TAX saka kung ano ano pa. Hats off din sa mga Call center agents di dapat kinakahiya yung work kasi WORK naman talagang matatawag yun.

TS napakahusay po ng inyong ginawa.. ako ay isang Hamak na konstraksyon worker lamang at pangarap kong maging isang Call center agent balang araw..ngunit marami sa ating mga Pilipino ang hinahamak ang karerang ito.  Nakakawalang gana kung iisipin, pero dahil sa ginawa nyo muli akong nabuhayan ng pagasa at tiwala na ang call center agent ay isang marangal at disenteng trabaho.  Ngayon po, ako ay patuloy na nagrerequest sa aking foreman na ilagay ako sa pang gabi upang pagsasanay na rin ito kapag naging isang ganap na rin akong call center agent, malakas rin ako magbuhat ng hollow blocks para tumagal sa puyatan sa opisina..Nawa'y dumami pa po ang mga taong katulad ninyo.. salamat po.
