Bakit nga ba ang mga BENILDEANS ay affected sa mga La Salle games...

wherein hindi naman affected ang mga Lasallista sa Benilde games?

parang tulad ng kanina, andaming apektado sa laro ng Lasalle at Ateneo.
pero kapag ang Benilde ang naglalaro sa NCAA, walang laman.

na feel nyo ba guys na nung season 2007 ng NCAA, over-all champion ang Benilde?

to speak for myself, hindi ko kinakahiyang Benildean ako. I bumped once with my friends from Ateneo de Davao High School, and they are studying currently at a quasi sosyal university saying "oh biboy kamusta ka na? san ka nagaaral ngayon?" Sabi ko, "sa Benilde".

Hirit ba naman ni walang hiya..."haha bagsakan yun ah, matalino ka pa naman"

Wat da pak sumpak....eh kung pakainin kita ng InterLaw books ni Bernas at ni Cruz? HELLO KAMUSTASA KA NAMAN?

When people ask me, where do you study, lagi kong sinasabi "Benilde". I'm proud to be Benildean. No offense to those who are from Lasalle, but some of you look at us like we are the lowest people that you could ever encounter with. I have good friends from Lasalle, pero hindi naman sila umaasta na Prima Dona noh. Please lang, we belong into one motto. Treat us like how we look up to your school. Duh.

Anyway going back to my topic, to those who are from my school, i know you are reading this....i may sound corny pero this is what i feel now. I can feel the intensification of the so called BENILDEAN APATHY- adj walang kwentang estudyante, mayaman, maporma, bobo at nagaaral sa Saint Benilde.



Now you see my point.

  Uhm hello its pretty much obvious na parami ng parami na ang population ng Benilde at dumadami ang Airheads. Whatever. Can you atleast try to make your parents proud by giving your all. JOLOGS NA AKO KUNG JOLOGS AT CORNY NA AKO hey atleast i have a cumulative GPA of more than 2.5  at sana wag magkukubra sa tuition at wag mag ccut ng classes. Kaya kayo inaaway ng ibang school eh, puro kayo pasosyal, puro kayo porma, puro kayo parties, puro kayo absences kaya mga grades nyo puro itlog. Sana wag makuntento sa 1.0 diba? Sana marealize nyo na may transcript of records, at sana makakuha ka ng trabaho sa grade mo na puro 1.0 at 0.0 at Drop. Andaming estudyante sa Benilde na walang matinong ginagawa. Ewan ko ba kung bakit nagaaral ka pa at kung bakit nagenroll ka pa. At sa mga foreign students ng aming eskwelahan you make things look worse for us, sana mag aral din kayo ng mabuti, pinadala ka na nga sa Pilipinas, gagagu gagu ka pa (kumuha ka ng translator nang maintindihan mo sinasabi ko,hindi ako magiingles para sayo). Damnit. Sana pinaaral nalang ng tatay mo si Perry ung nanglilimos sa labas.

Langya friends, sana alam nyo kung papaano kumuha ng pera. Sana rin alam nyo pano magbasa ng libro at makinig sa profs. Wag puro pictures sa hallways at puro neon pants na jologs naman ang dating kung immatch mo sa buong suot mo tpos mukha ka naman butanding pagkatapos ng effort mong pagaayos. Wag puro PASYON. puro kotse, puro "tsong dude pare, yosi tyo sa backgate or charlie brown" Im not putting a tension to those who smoke, I do smoke, pero the way i look at you guys para kayong walang pakialam sa oras ng mga pasok nyo at parang isa lang tambayan nyo. Nagbell na nga eh sasabihin pa "palate tayo hanggang 5:20" ulol ka ba? Sana sapian kayo ng espirito ni Yosi Kadiri.

Ano kaya laman ng bag mo? Intermediate paper at ballpen? Hell third world ka na nga utak mo third world parin ang setting. Loko loko ka super. Patawa ka. Wag kang kakanta kanta ng hmyn ng lasalle dahil wala kang kwenta.

SANA WAG at sana WAG nang dadami pa.

Bakit nga ba kayo nag Benilde in the first place? Do you have any reason of pursuing college? Im proud to relataliate to those who are and will be against of my opinion, because I know i study hard and i put effort to my god damn papers.

Oh my god buti nalang ni raise ni Airie. bakit ba andaming nageenglish sa school? pasosyal kayo super! PINALAKI BA KAYONG NAGIINGLES SA BAHAY NYO SIMULA NUNG BATA KAYO? o sadyang pasosyal ka ? lintek ha...naka encounter ka lang ng taga Zobel or LSGH bigla ka nalang umingles. Aba sushall ka. infairness. Buti sana kung best in english eh, eh wala eh pinilit mo eh, TIRA lang nga TIRA sa pagiingles anak, at one day marerecognize ka rin. isa kang balahurang dila na mali ang grammar DUH! If you know the history of how CSB came about, you will know bakit ganun ang tingin ng mga tao about it. It's been a long time but the stigma is still there. though i can definitely say its improving.

I studied at DLSU main (we are referred to as Lasallians not Lasallites anymore) and yes the stigma is there. More so because some of the professors are the ones fanning it (i.e. my philosophy teacher was blaming other schools part of the DLSU system for its "low" ranking of 3rd among Philippine schools and he mentioned CSB).

Another professor also mentioned this story. When applicants are asked what school they are from, in big voice "syempre La Salle", when asked which La Salle, answers in muted voice "benilde". while those from main would answer "syempre La salle taft, sa main hindi yung sa tapat."

Get the drift? the bad reputation it gets is being fanned by the old people from main who see it as a dumping ground.

Here is the story. CSB started out as part of DLSU main as a sort of remedial class for those who were not so bright (hence the stigma na mga bobo ang nasa CSB). later, when it became a separate school but still within the DLSU system, its first students were those from main (so again, kaya nagkaroon ng reputation na mga bobo ang andun). Also, before CSB was offering courses similar to what DLSU main offered so again the assumption was that if you were in CSB, you didn't pass the standards of DLSU main so you end up there. But, later the admin probably started to fell the stigma so they started to change the image of CSB. They started by changing what CSB offered (it offered courses NOT found in the curricular or DLSU main). They spent millions to build the angelo king building (HUGE building/hotel for CSB HRM students -- some areas also used as classrooms).

Also, there were past incidents (not sure if I should mention it since the info might only have circulated among lasallians) that further dragged the name of CSB down.

Still, the old image is still there. It's slowly changing and that's good news. Just don't expect that the image will change instantly. It will take many many years more.

for me, ok lang naman na tawagin na lasallian ang csb and iba pang schools na sakop ng system. dahil iisang system lang naman tayo. sa totoo lang, in my own opinion, hindi ko pinapansin yan. hindi naman lahat sa isang school ng system e matatalino at mayayaman. iba na rin ngayon. halohalo na din. nowadays, madami ng schools aside from lasalle ay magagaling na talaga. like feu, ue and etc.. pwedeng magkaron ng difference ang each school ng system ng lasalle pero iisang values ang tinuturo.. kasama pa jan yung chimes basta graduate ako ng lasalle... mapa-main, csb, dasma, health sciences campus o iba pa, im still proud to be a lasallian.
pag sa mga ncaa or uaap, i cheer for lasalle kasi ka system ko sha. yun lang.. opinion ko lang to ha..

And just to add to this...CSB was actually inside DLSU-Main...it was housed in the St. Miguel Bldg, the same building that houses the college of LIA-COM majors...so by association, I think one cannot really fault the "Benildeans" from associating themselves with the rest of the system, aside from the fact they too are part of the DLSU system.

And Bodieph, with regards to the Angelo King Bldg, were you referring to the Valentines Day fiasco? hehe

It is really sad that the stigma that is CSB has continued and has never been corrected. Although it is true that there are a lot of students from the main campus who falter in their search for academic excellence who in turn are forced to transfer to CSB, it is also worth noting that since CSB has an entirely different curriculum, some students do actually choose to enroll in CSB. I have classmates from HS who actually chose CSB over DLSU-Main and Ateneo. Yes, weird as it sounds, they did because of the course they actually wanted to take is only offered by CSB. And we are not talking about below-average students here. These are good students. Now, what's really funny is how we, Lasallians from Main (yes, I said we since I too am guilty of this when I was a froshie), get so much into the role of putting down Benilde where in fact there are a lot of failing going on in our own campus. Yes, one might argue that the courses offered are different, but barring which school offers which, failure is still failure. Besides, who are we to say that the courses offered in CSB are that easy? A lot of people speak of CSB as if no other school has "F" students and accepts people who were honorably dismissed.

Apart from what has been the stigma, all I see in this is ignorance. People always stop short in learning the truth by believing what is told through hearsays without researching for the facts. I just hope this stigma will be shattered one of these days. As the saying goes, one rotten apple in a basket full of fresh apples will rot the rest. I don't think we Lasallians, as part of the the same system, want that at all; to be collectively called rotten.

pero kung bakit affected ang csb for dlsu games AND NOT vice versa, depends on the lasallian student... well ganun ung kapatid ko na CSB cya pero cheer for DLSU... more cheers on DLSU over CSB... ewan ko sa kanya kng bakit ganun... talo nya pa nga ako e... siya nkkpnood ng dlsu-ateneo game pero soph p lng cya... ako na terminal never watched one live sa araneta... laging sa TV lng...

the bottomline is DLSU and its sister systems (e.g., CSB, Dasma, Health and Sciences, Zobel et.al.) always cheer for one la salle... and that's what i know...

Im a CSB student.....ID 106 right here....
Nagulat nga ako ng over all champs ang CSB sa NCAA last year.....Di man lang tayo ng celebrate.... And when ever people ask me where i study...I dont say im from La salle....
I say Im from CSB...And Im proud of that..... Im proud to be a part of SHRIM (School of Hotel Restaurant Institution Management).... I read the blog and its a real eye opener....
Im not bothered if la salle lost or something..... I try to watch CSB b ball games but my sched wont allow me to.... Sorry But mataas ang school pride ko..... Alam nyo bang CSB ang 2 time champs ng goldilocks cake designing competition coached by Chef Peachy..... And another one is our own
Ram Ong and Matthew Burgos who both are Flair champs not only here in the philippines but also the whole asia. As Ram Ong will represent Asia in the TGI fridays flair cup. Sorry if napahaba pero mataas talaga ang school pride ko.....Im proud to say im from CSB.

(did your profs in any of your classes teach you that?)

well it maybe true that alot of students of CSB are socialites but hey! wake up kid! they are from your own garbage! most of the students you are saying are from DLSU main! and its not fair to blame us benildeans to have those students!

we believe to our own principles which is our benildean core values which specifically identifies "individual uniqueness" well are you aware of that? some students may be forced by their parents to take up specific courses, but we benildeans believe that each one of us has its own specializations. 

im proud to say that im a CDP student in which our professors are your profs teachers in their MBA program!

so i suggest that you should be more aware about us benildeans before saying such things!

chill lang. wag po tayo mag away dito. im proud na benilde ako. ito nga lang ang school na ginusto ko eh. hindi ako nagapply sa ibang school. ang gusto ko lang yung mga lower batch maintindihan na hindi tapunan ng mga bagsak ang benilde. id 105 ako hrim din. nakikita ko yung mga bagong students mas lalong yumayabang. hindi naman sa wala akong yabang sa katawan pero sa nakikita ko yung iba nageenroll sa csb kasi akala nila madali dito. anyway benildeans are unique in their own way. proud ako na dito ako nagaral. proud din ako sa mga prof ko na bukod sa mababait eh magagaling pa. kaya nga kapag may nagtatanung sakin kung saan ako nagaaral, Benilde ang sagot ko. ANIMO BENILDE!
