Need Laptop Buying advice pros and cons
« on: April 12, 2016, 06:08:32 am »
Hi good day fellow espiyan.

Im trying to get a mid gaming laptop to buy on the market today...

I prefer 15.6 wide screen.. fast phase...

Ask ko.lang is i5 good enough? What does these mean like 1st generation to many generations... does it actually affect big time on each other... how about i3 with 8gig ram 2gig video card... vs i5 4gig ram 2gug video card?

Please let me know your inputs which computer company brand has its laptop lasts for a long time kahit inaalagaan mo sya mabuti? Im actually eyeing for hp or dell...

Are these some laptop with touch screen features lasts?

By the way would love to play mid gaming specs smooth gaming online like league of legends... and keep it on like 24/7...

I7 for.me i think is too much for the money... what would you say sirs?

 ::thanksforhelp

yung saktong pang gaming e i5 with at least GTX 960/70m card mostly dahil mas mahina yung mobile chip for GPUs , kaya na ng high settings for games, wag nga lang masyadong mataas resolution

touch screen is nice, pero mostly unused para sa games

don't worry for MOBA games, those are far less demanding specs-wise dahil optimized sya for online play.

24/7 ? for gaming? I doubt haha, kung may paggagamitan ka na naka-on ng 24/7, might as well magsetup ng ibang system, malakas kain ng gaming PC + weathering nung components.

whoops. nalimutan ko
i3 is no good for gaming, i5 + 8GB ram + GTX 840m above (2GB na minimum at this range afaik) will fit you just right. 30 to 45kish ang expect mo na price depende na sa brand + options.

This sounds good sir maraming salamat...
Now i have a clearer mind what to chose from...
i5 5th gen would do... kasi mostly nakikita ko sa shop here is 5th and 6th gen na i5...

Then ram should be 8gig... wow sarap cguro nito...

Video card at gtx 960..
...

Cguro alaga na lang sa pag gamit like 12 hours a day would do... mostly standby lng nmn... games like 2 to 3 hours...

Any recommended brand po sir? Which is which best box body... i had one kasi bfore mostly ang una nasisira yung di ko alam tawag yung bearing ba yun pagbukas sara sya...
Tap9s rumurupok yung body.

But this helps a lot sir thanks...

How old na po si laptop sainyo boss.?
Kamusta ang 4 gig na ram sir? Do you think 8 gig ram is too much?

4GB is too low for modern games (to give you an idea, open world games will eat up anywhere between 2-4GB at low settings for preloading/caching/etc, talking from experience with several 2-3 year old games pa ha), 8GB is the most that recent games utilize for performance and market reach , 16GB would be future proofing (not recommended and medyo overkill na yung specs if ever it has 16GB RAM along with it).

Idagdag ko lang ito, baka makatulong sa pagpili mo, nakabili kami ng earlier version ng GP series nito
last year sa MSI-MoA at around 36K, ang kaibahan lang ay full hd yung nakuha namin pero i3 lang,
the rest same specs na, nag upgrade lang kami ng RAM from 4gb to 6gb. So far, okay na okay sa games
lalo MSI naman sya.

my first gaming laptop had a GTX560M, i5 proc, 8GB ram, 15inch Full HD, MSI brand (umm around 4 years ago I think, SRP was around 50K). after about a year, it was replaced by a Asus G75VW (120hz, i7, 16GB ram, GTX670M, 2 750GB HDD, 17inch full HD, bluray drive, SRP around 100k)

both laptops performed well on all the games at that time so these days a GTX960M should be enough for most games. one of the reasons kung bakit mahal yung Asus was the 120hz (that means up to 120FPS which is important in some games). the resolution is also important, most 15inch laptops will only have a resolution of 1366x768 even the gaming ones so if you want full HD, you should check the resolution first since very few 15inch laptops will have full hd resolution

as for RAM, the minimum for gaming should 8GB dedicated (this is important to stress since some laptop graphic cards, even the discreet ones, will still get some memory from the RAM). also, take note that most gaming laptops are not designed for on the go performance, they are mostly designed as desktop replacement - meaning they are heavy and battery life is about an hour only. If you want, you can go for those laptops that have nvidia optimus technology - they have both discreet graphics and onboard, you can switch graphics card as needed, which will result in longer battery life BUT these laptops are typically not built for gaming so the specs aren't going to be as good

lastly, for gaming laptops, the known brands are MSI, ASUS. HP and dell aren't known much for their gaming laptops (in fact, specs wise, their gaming laptops pale in comparison to ASUS ROG ones)

PS
sometime last year, I decided to sell the laptop since I realized it was more of a hassle if a laptop has problems compared to a desktop. pag laptop nasira, buong laptop hindi mo magagamit until maayos yung isang part (and usually it takes time for parts to arrive) pag desktop ang nasira you can easily take out the component with a problem and replace it. so if you're not going to be on the go and will be using the laptop as a desktop replacement, desktop will still be the better choice
