Intel Celeron D 2.13ghz upgrading question
« on: August 20, 2006, 08:19:56 am »
my pc is a bit of an old setup, ive been using it since 2002 pa it has an oldschool P4 1.6ghz wit 400mhz FSB and 256kb L2 cache, so its a bit slow specially for 3d games, since my MoBo is also a bit old using the classic 478pin socket, now i tried looking for p4 2ghz and up that can be used with my socket 478 and i cant find anymore 478 based CPUs so im told to change my MoBo to LGA-775, but i dnt want to do major upgrade coz the next pc i want to assemble is a Core 2 Duo but for now i just wana make my pc run faster, my only option is the Intel celeron D 2.13ghz(or higher) socket 478 worth P2050 which isnt a major upgrade but atleast it would run a bit better coz i dnt have to change Mobo(which can use dual DDR400 and FSB  up to 1000mhz via overclock) and other parts

my question is this, i have Kingston DDR400(PC3200) 1gb(512mbx2) that was gona be for an upgrade, since im using only a 1.6ghz now im using DDR266(512mb only), can i use DDR400 on an Intel Celeron D 2.13ghz CPU with 533mhz FSB? sayang naman if i buy the CPU tapos di ko pala magagamit ung 1gb na DDR400

im planning on a minor CPU upgrade lang to make it a bit faster than what im using now, kc my P4 1.6ghz has 256L2 same as the Intel Celeron so pareho lang sa memory caching but the FSB of the Intel celeron is 533mhz so a bit fatser than what im using now which is 400mhz lang

bro, yeah u can use dat memory..but it will only register as ddr 333mhz coz dats the fastest speed that ur mobo can support and i think pc express still has a celeron 2.66 ghz dat wud fit ur mobo...hope dis helps

my mobo can use ddr400 and can be overclocked to work 1200mhz fsb, ang problem ko kc FSB 533mhz uses  ddr333, kaya im asking if fsb 533+ddr400 wil work

thats not a problem. just check if the mobo supports DDR400. if it does, there is no problem with the FSB. kung kaya ng mobo mo ang ddr2 it will still work even if FSB533 lang gamit mo
