assembling your own pc will only be cheaper if you know what you are doing and you know where to get the items

anyway, suggestion ko

AMD FX series ang gamitin mong processor, if you dont like AMD, go for pentium D (though personally i would go for FX series if I had the money)

for mobo, not really sure why most people have suggested asus. personally, im not that impressed with asus boards. there are better boards out there but asus is a good enough choice (i go for MSI 975x as compared to asus P5Wd2)

for memory, go for DDR2 667 (not 533) 2GB should be enough for gaming. corsair is better than kingston

for hard drive, go for SATA2. 200GB should be more than enough for your needs

for video card, go for PCIe (and yes, its ok if the board doesnt have AGP slot so long as it supports PCIe) a 256mb video card should be more than sufficient for gamers (or if you want you can go for 512)

if u have the budget, why not this one:

-DUAL CORE AMD OPTERON 275 (2 PIECES)
-ASUS K8N-DL DUAL PROCESSOR MOTHER MOTHERBOARD
-6 GIG CORSAIR PC3200 DDR2 ECC RAM
-NVIDIA GEFORCE 7800GT 256 MB
-ENLIGHT 5-1 CARD READER
-LG DUAL LAYER DVD-RW
-4 PCS 80 GIG SEAGATE SATA3 HARDDISKS (CONFIGURED TO RAID 0+1;MIRRORING +   STRIPPING)
- WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL 64BIT OEM
- 2 PCS 19" VIEWSONIC VA912 LCD MONITORS

im using 2 units and they're pretty fast.  m

total PHP 350,000 six months ago (so i think mas cheaper na ngayon)

I  suggest that you go to your trusted computer shop and specify the parts to your liking (make sure you did your homework for compatibility issues) and at the end of the day, you'll be saving much much more and having the power you would be needing compared to buying pre-assembled ones.
