Cleto Reyes gloves is a punchers gloves, the advantage for this glove is you can feel the impact of your punches since it has a small amount of padding in the knuckle area and the disadvantage is you are prone to wrist injury due to the gloves soft wrist protector.

Please take note that Cleto Reyes gloves released after November, 2008, are already foam-padded.  They may even look stockier than other brands of the same weight.

These Cleto Reyes gloves are labeled as "Safetec."  They even provide better protection for boxers hands and wrists than other established brands. 

Are they still the "puncher's gloves" they WERE famous for?

That remains to be seen.  But take note that for his fight with Ricky Hatton, Manny Pacquiao wore pre-2008 Cleto Reyes gloves, as seen by the white wrist which adorned older releases (Safetec ones have red linings).



It's a safe bet that Manny will be back-ordering pre-November, 2008 Cleto Reyes gloves from now on.
