Need help po about Network Timeout
« on: June 18, 2009, 04:42:19 am »

Network Timeout

The server at friendster.com is taking too long to respond.

The requested site did not respond to a connection request and the browser has stopped waiting for a reply.

    * Could the server be experiencing high demand or a temporary outage?  Try again later.
    * Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.
    * Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy?  Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.
    * Still having trouble? Consult your network administrator or Internet provider for assistance.

Thanks po in advance... toast:: ::inposition

as in... ping www.google.com or ping google.com is okay sya at merong reply pero sa browser is ayaw?

Yun nga lang pag meron kang filter or policy sa router mo regarding port 80 (which is HTTP) hindi mo nga sya maoopen.

in behalf of telesforo, i will like to answer the hanging question:

1. access your router menu using your browser by typing 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.10.1 (your default gateway)
2. when prompted by a username and password just type admin(username) and admin(password)
NOTE: this is the default logon's for common routers, just in case the username and password are incorrect maybe someone has changed the password without your knowledge.
3. when you successfully entered the username-password combination, your router will display a series of menus on which you can navigate.
4. search for a menu called "url filtering or port filtering" and see to it that it doesn't have any url's or ports that are on the blacklist or blocked lists.
5. if you see there are no websites, addresses or ports on the said menu.try to logout and post a hijackthis log here.

just one more thing, what antivirus software are you using?
