Sugar Shane Mosley said it best when he mentioned that Mayweather Jr. dodged all three boxers that beaten Mosley: Cotto, Forrest, and Wright...and not to mention, Margarito and Mosley has been calling him out since Moses parted the Red Sea.

It is very obvious that he is dodging Manny Pacquiao. Why? Because Mayweather is afraid to get hurt. I am not taking anything away from "Money" as he will come down as one of the greatest to ever step on the squared circle, but he has chosen most of his opponents, though great in their own rights, are not heavy punchers; with the exception of Oscar De La Hoya who at the time of the fight was way passed his prime but was considered a heavy puncher during his prime.

Over and over, "Money" mentioned that he still is, even during his absence, the raining No. 1 Pound for Pound. Why? Because Manny Pacquiao lost twice while he is undefeated. Okay, let's ride on that thought. So based from his logic, shouldn't the great Rocky Marciano be considered the best Pound for Pound as he retired 49-0? Oh wait, he's dead...okay, then let's turn to the living...the greatest Welsh boxer, Joe Calzaghe who is now retired and retired Light Heavyweight Super Champion with a 46-0 record, should then be the best Pound for Pound. He fits Mayweather Jr.'s criteria right? Undefeated, a Super Champion, and retirement is not a factor. toast::..

Bro, opinion lang.. Mayweather is claiming that he is the best pound4pound boxer because he won fights with different weight classes.. Not like Calzaghe and Marciano. Mayweather, De La Hoya and Pacquiao had the title for the best pound4pound because they fought and won in different weight classes. IMO.. Pero MANNY PACQUIAO parin FTW! Hehehe..

Haha good observation Gwapio...I thought no one will catch that. I concede to your point regarding Marciano as in the history of boxing, heavyweights were never considered in the mythical P4P rankings. However, I would keep my ground on Calzaghe as he himself conquered two weight classes: the Super-Middleweight and Light Heavyweight divisions. Plus, before retiring, he actually was the No. 2 P4P only to be best by our own Manny Pacquiao for the crown.

But yes, Manny Pacquiao, though it will be a hard-fought fight, will give Mayweather, Jr. a good run for his money...and maybe even give "PrettyBoy" his first mark on the Loss column.  toast::  finger4u

For the meantime, yes, he is dodging Manny. Imo, it's his best option.

Mayweather just got out of retirement and it would be stupid of him if he goes straight for Manny.

I definitely agree that it would be stupid of him to call out Manny right away as regradless of what he says he still is not in boxing shape.

But the way he makes it sound is that he is at the top of his game; that he is still the reigning P4P champ; that he can neutralize Manny Pacquiao's speed and strength; that he is unbeaten and will stay unbeaten....and when you hear things like those, you can't help but think, "Ok, you are still that good as you claim to be, and you claim to still be the best. So why not go for who everyone thinks is the best todayif it's that easy anyway and not someone who is a 135lb fighter?"

He is a very good fighter hands down, though I don't like his boxing style from an entertainment standpoint. And yes, regardless of how he likes to hype things up, he should have more respect than what he is giving so that people would stop getting on his case.  To me, and to most, he plainly refuses to acknowledge Pacquiao to be No.1 Pound for Pound, and that is plain disrespectful as Pacman earned it. toast::
