Sugar Shane Mosley said it best when he mentioned that Mayweather Jr. dodged all three boxers that beaten Mosley: Cotto, Forrest, and Wright...and not to mention, Margarito and Mosley has been calling him out since Moses parted the Red Sea.
It is very obvious that he is dodging Manny Pacquiao. Why? Because Mayweather is afraid to get hurt. I am not taking anything away from "Money" as he will come down as one of the greatest to ever step on the squared circle, but he has chosen most of his opponents, though great in their own rights, are not heavy punchers; with the exception of Oscar De La Hoya who at the time of the fight was way passed his prime but was considered a heavy puncher during his prime.
Over and over, "Money" mentioned that he still is, even during his absence, the raining No. 1 Pound for Pound. Why? Because Manny Pacquiao lost twice while he is undefeated. Okay, let's ride on that thought. So based from his logic, shouldn't the great Rocky Marciano be considered the best Pound for Pound as he retired 49-0? Oh wait, he's dead...okay, then let's turn to the living...the greatest Welsh boxer, Joe Calzaghe who is now retired and retired Light Heavyweight Super Champion with a 46-0 record, should then be the best Pound for Pound. He fits Mayweather Jr.'s criteria right? Undefeated, a Super Champion, and retirement is not a factor.
