Cops nab four rich kids for QC taxi holdup
Police arrested four rich kids after allegedly robbing a taxi driver in Diliman, Quezon City, early Thursday.
Nabbed were Michael Dy, Jibreel Sinsuat, Marc Dagatan and a minor, who, according to an ABS-CBN News report, are students of an exclusive school.
Driver Jose Maligsa said the four suspects hailed his taxi around 1 a.m. on Xavierville Avenue and asked to be fetched to the University of the Philippines campus in Diliman.
Maligsa alleged that the kids declared holdup and at gunpoint took his cellular phone and P3,000 cash.
The driver said he shouted for help after the kids abandoned him and the taxi outside the campus.
Policemen and members of the UP police caught up on the suspects, but failed to recover the cash and the phone.
One of the suspects, meanwhile, denied the taxi driver's allegation. He said he and his friends were just fooling around the campus.
The suspect added that they rode a jeepney, not a taxi, at the time.
Chito Cueva, one of the residents who responded to help the taxi driver, however, said that passenger jeepneys plying around the campus are usually gone by midnight. With a report from Ryan Chua, ABS-CBN News
