I read this before and made no sense.  :D

I read it again and felt it had little to no sense.  :D

I read it for the third time and I prayed it had sense.  :D

I Google'd for "watchmen sense" and it made me (a little) smart.  :D

Thanks for the books, baka better yun than the film. Saw it last Saturday and di ko trip. It lasted for almost 3 hours and halfway through I was wishing for it to end. Sobra nila siniksik at di naman ganun ka ganda ang flow ng story.

Andami din half baked at may mga scenes that attempted to shock in terms of violence pero nothing I haven't seen in other flicks.

actually snyder did a good job on the movie adaptation, he remained faithful to the book, even though moore didn't want to make the watchmen into a movie (only dave gibbons was credited as co-creator). the retrospect in the beginning of the movie was excellent in telling how the world of the watchmen came to be. silk spectre II and nite owl II were a great tandem specially with the alley fight and prison escape scene. rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley) could teach christian bale on how to correctly growl while speaking.lol.

and thank god they removed the pirate story and black freighter story, if they did included it, the movie would take 4hrs. the new ending worked for me, i think the giant squid ending would have sucked nowadays.

i get it why some people didn't like the movie expecting something superhero-ey. the wathchmen comic came out 1986-87, that time i revolutionized comic book story telling, that included political satire combined with sci-fi. it won numerous awards, Watchmen was the only graphic novel to appear on Time's 2005 list of "the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to the present.

kapag kinompare mo yung story ng watchmen sa mga story ng comicbooks todaay parang wala lang ngayun. but during the time it came out everyone who read it was blown away with the story and alam moore's way of writing. thats way the watchmen movie is big deal to comic geeks, everyone was expecting Snyder is going to massacre the story, there were a few bumps in the movie but all in all he did a good job.

oh and one more info, alan moore was quoted that he would never watch the watchmen if ever it becomes a movie. hopefully he watches it.. i wanna read his comments/review. moore is known to be really brutal when asked for a comment/review about other comics, movies, tv series.

sorry about the long post. ;)

i really liked the movie. not your typical superhero saves the day type but showed how heroes also have different lives, issues and problems they deal with. i also liked how the story went though i know some still prefer the comic book. i also liked how deep the movie is, got really annoyed when teenagers started whinning on some scenes. clearly not for children, haha!

effects>story  ;)

dude lets not be too hasty on judging people on who's a wannabe or not, we're all entitled to our own opinion. if someone did not like the movie/comic so be it. we can't make everyone like everything that we like. :)

How come when I said something like this, everyone starts barking?

Here's the thing with fans, they think they're the only ones who can appreciate or even understand their interest. Not just comic book fans, same as football, basketball or what have you. It's a way to protect their being special. Because it gives them that genius feeling. So now that everyone seems to be having their own hands in their special world, they're not that special anymore.

True fans will open the gate, not close it. You only fully understood something when you can share it with others.
