How sad intel philippines nagsasara na... Pero I think BPO's would still be an asset to the economy of the Philippines. I have also read in some sites na a lot of companies are still investing sa mga call centers found in the Philippines.

Mga big companies will shift to outsourcing kasi mas mura.

Speech Synthesis, Speech Recognition and AI isn't too far off that means call centers would soon be obsolete. Soon when theres a call you would hear an automated answering machine. Kaya yung mga call center people don't think that you have security in your job. You just might wake up one day and you are already a dinosaur soon to be extinct. I still think that health services is one of the most secure jobs in the world. People get sick. In fact I think morticians have the best job in the world because all people die. They will never be out of the job. ;D

I think I would rather speak to a live person than the Automated Phone Systems...

YES there is still future in the B.P.o Industry pa rin what is the main reason bakit tinatanggal or lay-off ang mga call center agents the real fact:

1. Most call center agents are being pirated by other companies
2. Most common call center companies are being outsourced back to India these are the micro-call center like in baguio - experience ko yan
3. Call center Companies during application prefer with M.A or doctoral degree kung wala ka nito they also accept Finishing Course For Call center Agents and English Computerized Learning program for call center Agents (from TESDA-LSI).
4. Most Call center Agents are having Health  Problems
5. Some Agents does meet the sales target
6. Some call centers are being miss managed

Dont you worry my dear brother spies kahit na malaki ang finical crisis natin d2 marami pa ring sumusugal sa ganitong out-source na business  bakit tipid na rin ang company sa pa-sweldo lalo nat kapag nasa province pa yung call-center tulad ng baguio di ba malamig duon - di mo kailangan ng Aircon - tipid na sila sa kuryente kasi di na need ang aircon tapos province pwede na ang 13,000.00 kada buwan na sweldo since they still give phil -health and SSS

@kcatral

may problem ang company kung ganun

1. call center agents being pirated totoo yun dahil umpisa pa lang wala ng loyalty ang mga agents sa company ang may problem dyan is the Human Resources mismo

2. M.A. baka matataas na posisyon na ito like Manager or mga heavy technical datas na kahit High school or vocational graduate hindi matindihan

6. kaya siguro kailangan ng M.A

AI isn't recorded voice. Sorry if you think human interference is not obsolete. Accent isn't a problem there are speech recognition software that can identify different accents including Filipino English. Human error is more likely to happen when there is human intervention. Lets face it BPOs don't exactly hire doctors and lawyers. I pressume IQ isn't a must when applying for a call center job. If you really think you are smart enough then why get a call center job when you can be a doctor or a lawyer or if you really wan't to make it to the big time be a crooked politician. Perfect English doesn't make a person any smarter. I heard a Briton once say "Americans say they speak English but are they English. They don't sound English". What he meant that Americans don't speak English. They only claim they do. English is spoken in England.
So I believe that solves the accent issue you raised earlier. Americans, French and Indians don't speak English.
