Badtrip din kasi ko nung laban nila Mayweather & Dela Hoya. Di pa niya napabagsak tapos nanalo pa si Dela Hoya. I always thought pinanalo siya coz I remember it was his "supposed" final match before retiring.
correct lang kita dirty sanchez...si Mayweather Jr. ang nanalo. he won by a split decision over De La Hoya, thus, making Mayweather the WBC Jr. Middleweight/Super Welterweight champ...but if you meant that at least with one judge he won the fight, then please pardon my intrusion...
now, my take on the "match": yes, like mentioned above, this stuff is made in video games, made in dreams. How can anyone even call this a match? It's a mismatch...now, I am not here to bicker around and not support Manny Pacquiao. But I just think that his chances are slim, if not very slim.
Let me prove my point. Granted that Manny Pacquiao has the speed and power to boost in this match, so what does De La Hoya have to counter this? Simple, experience and being a much heavier fighter who fights in much heavier divisions. But what does this mean? Truly, Manny Pacquiao's speed and power is beyond reason as we've seen in all of his fights. He has the power of a Junior Welterweight, if not a Welterweight, fighting in the Lightweight. However, granted that Manny can punch like a Welterweight, the question stands whether these division-based strong punches are effective against De La Hoya who has fought from the Jr. Lightweight all the way to the Middleweight divisions. Not only has De La Hoya faced and withstood some of the best and heaviest punchers in the Welterweight and Middleweight history in Trinidad, Mosley, and Hopkins to name a few, he has also increased his speed and power along the way. So the question is reversed, can Manny handle the speed and power that a Middleweight fighter has in De La Hoya. Again, granted that De La Hoya is slower and weaker than he used to be. But we have to keep in mind that De La Hoya is no ordinary boxer. Regardless of his diminished talent, he still can go toe-to-toe with any fighter within his division, and can still pull a win. We've seen him battle Mayorga and Vargas, two champions, two good punchers, in his decline, and still punished them.
As I've said, I am still pulling for a Pac-Man upset. But the odds are heavily stacked against him. Both men will make big bucks in this fight. For Manny, this will be the purse that he's been waiting for all his boxing career. On paper I think it will be an Oscar De La Hoya decision. But in my heart it's a Manny Pacquiao knock-out. But the question stands, will Manny Pacquiao be able to withstand Oscar De La Hoya's, though diminished, yet still formidable speed and power...
