taga davao ako pero grabe naman niyan. sa karami-raming sponsors and kilalang mga personalities(kuno) at malalaki pa yung mga companies, yun lang ang cash prize tapos may registration fee pa? hehe no offense bro, just telling the truth

I know Dr. Lopue personally. Maganda ang paghandle nya ng table tennis sa Wester Visayas together with his members (Johnard Baldonado and Mark Jimenez).

@oponco,

Have you tried reading the solicitation letter and the amount being solicited? Have you ever encountered any Davao Tournament that has been sponsored by private entities/individuals? Try to read again the Heading that has the word "PTA" and what does it imply. We should be glad that some private individuals exert efforts to propagate the game of table tennis. It has been completely left behind by Badminton.

kaya nga sabi ko no offense. nandiyan kc yang karlo nograles eh. hehe lahat na nga ng park at kasuluk-sulukan ng davao nandiyan apelyido nila tapos ang kuripot pa. hehe

Ok I understand. For the information of everybody, the Tournament Chairman is the legal counsel of the Nograles'. That is the reason why their names are part of the sponsors. Basically, it is a PTA sponsored activity.

I think it has been a public knowledge that national tournaments held at UP usually have medals and chocolates as prizes and sometimes they just posted in their advertisements/posters the word "Prizes to be followed" or when you asked the organizer, he will just say "surprise".  laffman::

The only known tournaments that have big cash prizes are held at Mandaue and Bacolod annually during November.

zugstwit recalls: "Waldner, si Ted Pagunsan ay Class A player dito sa Iloilo City 15 years ago but not in the class of Lauro Crisostomo who cut his ponger teeth dito sa La Paz Baptist Center; paminsan minsan nakakatsamba. Nice to know that he is quite active sa competitive tablenet. Secretary ako nun ni Engr. Rudy So sa defunct Iloilo City Table Tennis Association (ICTTA).

Class B pa rin ang level ni Ted dahil he's not getting any younger din. Maybe 15 years ago, Class A na ang tingin natin but presently, he is rightfully in the Class B. Marami nga tumalo sa kanya. But he's still good. I treated them (Team Gensan) for dinner and we have some ponger talks. BTW, I know Mr. Rudy So and his son Ken. Ken told me (when I was in Manila last september) that his father is somewhat sickly but he's ok.

Anyway, I'm here in Cebu now bound to Bacolod this early am. I will just give updates on the 2007 LOPTTA Tourney in bacolod. Just as I promised to Dr. Lopue that I will be in his tourney after I finished my schooling, here I am now. The LOPTTA Tourney is a must be participated tourney because it is unique and well organized.

Thanks waldner! Certainly brings back some memories nung active pa kami (ICTTA) sa competitive tablenet. Ngayon si Edgar Fuentes is carrying the load upang mabuhay ang mga pongers ng Iloilo City. I'm inviting you to contribute tablenet tips sa sports section ng pinoyspy elite para masabi naman nating rounded ang ps elite! Thanks sa update mo kay Rudy, will give him a call.

Im always updated sa mga latest table tennis events dto sa pinas at sa abroad. sad to say, lubhang napolitika ang pingpong dto sa pinas kaya hindi umasenso. I gained so many friends and enemies too.
