back button for firefox
« on: June 18, 2007, 09:51:35 pm »
guyz, dont know if you have this same problem of mine. my "back" button for firefox doesn't work. however, this affects the new espiya website only.  when i click on the back button, i'm redirected to the current page, not the previous one.  but dont have this problem with other sites, only in our beloved espiya. didnt have this problem in our old espiya website. thanks...

The problem is a javascript in the Forum template that breaks out of the iframe in the frontpage. Without this javascript, the forum will open in the small block in the frontpage (in HTML lingo, its called an IFRAME). The problem with this javascript, the Forum page does not know the previous page because it merely broke out of the iframe. Technically, it's like opening a new browser window. So when you click BACK, it merely refreshes the page.

Until this problem is resolved, I have no choice but to go back to the OLD Frontpage, and this means we will lose the functionality of the new features (blogs, image gallery, media, profiles, etc..)

It's a tough decision because we had just moved into a new system, but because there are usability issues, the logical step is to go back...

yes, wag na lng tayong bumalik sa dati. nakakahiya, ako pa naman ang nag start. but really, it is just a very small inconvenience compared to the numerous joys and unfathomable happiness espiya and boss sd bought into my life.(and all the pinoyspies for that matter)

the new portal system that we implemented last week is still there, i just have to change a filename and the new frontpage will be back. But until I have found a fix to the BACK problem (not my back problem, hehehe), the old frontpage will be used in the meantime.
