802.11 b/g ng usual na installed in most laptops and will connect to any Wifi Access point/WiFi router and the connection can be free or will require u to have access or an acount with a username and password for said connection, the only limit to ur access aside from username and password is the speed of ur wifi connection

we refer to this technology as WiBro(Wireless Broadband) and most other countries in asia almost all establishments not just coffee shops have them and are free, wala tayo magagawa kc nasa pinas tayo and lahat ng pwedeng pagkakitaan ng pera pinagkikitaan, most hotspots in the philippines is controled by a company known as airbourne access whom u need to make an account with to have a username and password to the hotspots they carry

IF U R A PLDT myDSL or SMARTBro subscriber u r entitled to avail of WiBro of airbourne access for unlimited use for only P199 a month on any of the Hotspots they have in the metro

ok ganito ang CONNECTION mo is to a WIRELESS ROUTER or WIRELESS ACCESS POINT(a device or hardware kung saan nanggagaling ang WIRELESS SIGNAL and kung wala nito walang WiFi) within a HOTSPOT, the AREA na covered ng WiFi lang ang may access sa network and if that network is connected to the internet edi makakaconnect ka, IF LUMAYO KA SA COVERAGE NG WiFi dun sa HOTSPOT(lets say may 50ft coverage ung WiFi nung hotspot) MAWAWALA ang connection mo sa network nung hotspot and mapuputol ka from the net, merong hotspot na free and meron na may bayad as discussed above and usually ang mga hotspots is mga establishments like PC cafe or coffee shops like Starbucks

KUNG MERON PONG HOTSPOT SA BULUBUNDUKIN NG TAWITAWI LIKE A STARBUCKS... YES MAKAKACONNECT KAYO, KUNG NASA ISLA KAYO NA WALANG HOTSPOT WALA KAYO MAKUKUHA CONNECTION, SANA PO NAKALINAW  laffman::

connect anywhere... there is a HOTSPOT, sa hotspots c pag nde free u r asekd to enter a username and password so u have to be a part of the network or BUY ACCESS to that network, here are a list of ways to connect wirelessly(note 1,2 and 3 means u can only connect using ur Laptop's Wifi 802.11 device) :

1) HOTSPOTS(free) - usually pc shops/cafes(kind hearted) and other establishments like schools and offices give free access to students and employees
2) HOTSPOTS(pay per access) - Airbourne Access is the company/provider who handles most of the PayPerAccess hotspots like starbucks where u have to either have an account with Airbourne Access itself or buy Internet access cards in those establishments

currently Airbourne Access offers a UNLIMITED Wireless Broadband access for P199 a month to SmartBRO and myDSL PLDT subscribers since both services are for homes only

3) Wireless Network/Access point - if u have broadband at home like SmartBro or myDSL u can configure ur house to become a wireless access point for numerous wifi capable devices like laptops and PDAs so that they can wirelessly access ur HOME NETWORK and the internet, u have to buy a WIRELESS ROUTER/ACCESS POINT device and setup a home/office netwrok

4) 3g/3.5g - as we all know 3g is the latest service that Globe and Smart offers for HIGHSPEED internet/data connection for ur mobile phones used for video calls and data transfer for uploading and downloading files from ur celfone to the internet, but is now also used so that u can connect to the internet WAY FASTER THAN STANDARD DSL connection speeds and can be used on ur LAPTOPS(using WIRELESS PCMCIA card)so u can CONNECT ANYWHERE... i think this is what u refer to as CONNECT anywhere

here are the wireless broadband connections available in our country and providers

Globe=P2000 with 1 time P2000 installation fee
WeROAM=PLDT/Smart wireless broadband P1700/P1200 and 1 time P2500 installation fee

ung connect anywhere naman, un nga usually nagseserve niyan is ung cnabi ni bro xtian na mga globe and smart. this can be through a 3g phone meaning ung phones ngayon na 3g ready. or meron silang ilalagay sa pc/latop mo na card para maka connect sa kanila. parang ang mangyayari, imbes na 3g phone gamit mo e laptop na. parang ganun..

802.11n Drafts 1.0 and 2.0 are already approved. Malaki ang difference ng Draft 2.0 sa Draft 1.0 products kasi Draft 2.0-compliant gear are guaranteed to be fully compatible with the final 802.11n standard.
