this is where gaming enters a new realm since not everyone will be able to avail of the unit(specially in the philippines) anytime soon, expect it to hit our streets for the general gaming populus around 3-4 years pa since BlueRay is a relatively new technology and those who are avid fans of pirated copies dnt get your hopes up on getting this baby modded right away to run ur favorite bootleg games coz reproduction of BluRay discs is only $10 cheaper than orig games costing $59

we will see an exodus of the local gaming world since console gaming will be for those who have the greens to shell out and most of those who are not privy to it will have to settle for PS2 and the ever wallet-accessable MMORPGs n compshops

a trade in of old games and consoles+accessories could lighten the load of the $599 suggested retail price... that is if the consoles are unmodified and the games are not bootleg or more popularly know as pirated

I SUGGEST MAKING PLANS TO BUY THE PS3 6 months and UP after the release on nov so that major bugs and glitches have been worked out, the scarcity of having only 500,000 unit produced by the end of the year presents the danger of DEFECTIVE units to be sold too

ako rin sony fanatic. bibili rin ako nyan later on. and i'm sure makakagawa ng paraan para magkaroon ng pirated blu ray discs sa mas mababang halaga. in the meantime, nagiipon ako ngayon ng mga ps2 games para may pagkaabalahan ako habang antay ko bumaba presyo ng ps3. he he he.

personally id pass it up. depende n din siguro kung magmura tlg. been an avid RPG gamer since the 90s, ung PS1 at PS2 ko nabulok n lng d2 sa bahay. id rather spend the cash on better hardware for my pc. o pamorma sa sasakyan. i always found console rpgs a little... immature.

one of the best reason to buy a PS3 even if you are not a true gamer is it's blu-ray capability....

share lang ko sa inyo...

on average here in canada, a blu ray standalone player cost $1100.00
while buying a PS3 would cost only about $600.00...

by the way, Its coming out on November 17......




final note:

a person would need to have an HDTV to fully appreciate blu-ray movies

nde po yan fake/bootleg/pirated, those are original copies that were created for test purposes of IGN, thats why nde kailangan gandahan kc they were placed on blank BluRay discs, FYI blank discs cannot be duplicated like standard dvd and cds we use sa pirating indusrty, coz blank bluray media cost $10 than original games meaning a $59 orig can be copied on a $49 blank BR disc

and to really appreciate $599 u better hook this baby up on an HD capable TV(or HDTV) if not u just wasted all that money for a piece of high end technology without being able to use its absolute full potential, not using a ps3 on an non-HDTV means ur only getting $200-$300 worth of your money in return for an investment of $599 meaning everytime u play... sony is cheating u out of another $300, HDTVs are already a standard home appliance in the US so no problem there unlike in the philippines, very rare, thats what we get for being patrons of FAKE or substandard technology... we get what we (can) pay for
