NBA Old School vs. New School
« on: May 25, 2006, 07:51:30 am »
Here are some NBA matchups. Old School vs. New School

LeBron James is often called "the next Michael Jordan"
with his similar style of play.

The Pistons' Richard Hamilton has the same playing style
of former Pacers great Reggie Miller.

Leaping ability is at the top of the list of comparisons
between Shawn Marion and Dominique Wilkins.

An uncanny ability to find open players on the floor is what
many people see in Steve Nash and Magic Johnson.

Ben Wallace has been dominating on the defensive end
much like Bill Russell, who won 11 NBA titles.

There is possibly no player more imposing these days then Shaquille
O'Neal, but back in the day, that player was Wilt Chamberlain.

Being tall and having one of the sweetest strokes in the
league, makes Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki and former Celtic Larry
Bird easy to compare.

Though not as outspoken as Sir Charles Barkley,
Elton Brand has similar dominating features to the star.

Dwyane Wade and his high-flying reckless play wins
the hearts of fans and teammates much like ex-Blazer
Clyde "the Glyde" Drexler.

The only possible similarities IMHO are those of Rip-Reggie and Shaq-Wilt. The rest are debatable.

bossing pool hustler let me share my insights scottie pippen i think is incomparable on the way he plays and all of the achievements that he have done & contribute to the to the league but in some ways may mga pagkakahawig pa din sila ng laro ni josh howard because they are both running both ends on th floor and slashy moves to the basket. what do you think guys?

I'd say it would be a close match but I'd have to go with the current NBA players. I mean I'm not taking away anything from the Legends especially HIS AIRNESS and I do believe that he still is the best player who has ever played the sport. But basketball has evolved like any other sports. The game now is different from the game before. It's more Athleticism and it's more technical since people have constantly studied and improved the sport in so many ways. Kobe, Carter, Mcgrady, James, Wade are Jordanesque in quality and style (esp Kobe) I mean if you put them all against Jordan... I don't think Jordan would win... but I still think He's the best player who's ever played the sport.

i'd say wade, skills-wise, is the most probable heir to jordan. in his early years, jordan always attacks the basket, maximizing his strengths in hops and upper body strength, it was only in his later years that he developed his perfect jump shot.

unless rip extends his range, he will be no close to my idol, reg.
