im not sure abt this but hindi ko pa talaga na babasa ang book na ito just the cover hehehe

basically the book is saying that mary magdalene was the supposed wife of Jesus Christ. then, the crusades which was supposed to be searching for the holy grail was actually was searching for mary magdalene, who is carrying the "blood" of Jesun Christ in her womb. in the book, it was also mentioned that during the time of Constanatine, the church integrated pagan and egyptian religious practices into the church (the one that we know of today) in order to, sort of unify the people. it was also said in the book that the our practices such as the "Holy Eucharist," the "Washeing of the Feet," and the "Resurrection" were all part of (Egyptian religion) and practiced before during the Egyptian times.
the main controversy in the novel is that, well, wala daw kasi asawa si Jesus. pero dito nga, detailed pa yung mga explaination regarding the paintings of da vinci which points out that Jesus was really Mary Magdalene's better Half. this is the reason why even the Vatican wants this book banned. but other books related to this/ or has the same context are "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" and "The Woman with the Vase(
-im not very sure)."
if you guys can watch "The Da Vinci Code, Decoded," panuorin nyo. there are i think 6 other authors there that were interviewed regarding the book. and 3 of them are claiming that mary is Jesus' wife. i especailly like the explanation of one them, saying that what of the things that dan brown was trying to say in the book was that during the time of Constantine, he could have easily "modified" the church for his own intentions. naalala ko tuloy yung isa naming pinagtatalunan na magbabarkada dati. papayag ka ba na mag-asawa mga pari? sabi nila, di raw. kasi are we going to sacrifice ba raw yung milleniums of belief para sa kalibugan lang. sabi ko naman, bakit hindi, kung yun ba ikabubuti ng simbahan. but, seriously, try reading the book if you can, then look for that documentary. its awesome! sabi pa nga nung isa sa kanila pala, "if after reading the book, you can still say without a flinch, you dont believe in it, then you are truly blessed."
