i think she was just being reactionary. the coup threats were getting more and more serious and ibat ibang grupo na ang nababalitang magcoup. baka natakot na rin sya finally. she was probably thinking sa dami ng mga binabalitang grupo na magcoup daw, one of them is bound to be serious.

this better be just temporary, otherwise, she will risk the ire of the people

I think these military adventurists should look beyond themselves.  If they succeed who will they put in her place?
Majority of Filipinos are sick and tired of this.  All they want is to earn a living.  How can anyone invest in a country that is so unstable?  If this goes on
even Vietnam and Cambodia will surpass us.

Think about it!   :)

praning lng tlga ang mga pinoy when these things happen.  marahil dahil malalim ang sugat n iniwan ng martial law nung panahon ni marcos.  mabuti n rin n vigilant tayo para d n ulit maabuso ang kapangyarihan n isinalalay natin s mga nakaupo s pwesto.  shows also n d tayo nakakalimot s kasaysayan ng ating bansa.  pero hayaan n rin natin si gloria dahil d nya nman gagawin itong hakbang n ito ng basta-basta kung walang panganib s gobyerno nya especially since the economy was already picking up.  i jst pray she doesn't overstep the bounds of her powers under the law.
personally i think any coup or people power that would oust the current resident of malacanang at this point will not solve our problems.  wala p akong nakikitang matino, malakas o credible n pinuno n papalit ke gloria. and whoever inherits her post thru extra-constitutional means will be in exactly the same position where gloria is now literally and figuratively.

As update today.....hinuli si Rep.

well.....ang masasabi ko dyan ay eto....president arroyo is not helping our economy by her stupid declaration. bakit kamo? kc po galing naman sa kanilang bibig na napigil na nila yung planong coup. so...there is no need to declare state of emergency...but according to some lawyers....the president's declaration of state of emergency is in the constitution but....its should be just a statement stating that our country is in an emergency situation at yun lang po at hindi pwede ang mga warrantless arrests na ginagawa nila today...imagine guys more than 100 people na ang naaresto nila just of today and hindi pa kasali yung mga raid na ginawa nila sa mga media outlets which is illegal sa state of emergency.  hindi naman po kc martial law ang inilabas ni gma kundi statement lang pero some laws under martial law ay naandito. scary di ba mga guys?...i am not not a pro nor anti gma pero hindi ko nagugustuhan yung mga tugon ng ating presidente sa sitwasyon natin ngayon...dapat cguro magpalit cya ng mga matitinong advisers puro kc palpak advices nila eh. lalo lang nila pinalalala yung situation sa mga ginagawa nila. well i hope maging ok na yung papers ko papuntang canada at para makaiwas na ko sa pinas mukha kcng wala ng pag asa ang bansa natin mga guys.. ok peace man ;D

ayan ... nagkakagulo n c fort bonifacio as of this post ... yung pinagdududahan  n nagpaplanong mag-coup n cna gen miranda at col querubin ang dahilan ng problema ... miranda was relieved of his post and taken into custody ... querubin nagvivigil n s marine HQ at nanghihikayat sa mga mamayanan na samahan sya dun.  pero c archbshop rosales is not calling the flock to support the disgruntled soldiers instead reiterated his call for people not to be deceived.  according to malacanan naman c jv ejercito naman daw nagkakalat ng disinformation.

ewan ko lang kung saan patutungo to pero d maganda.  wala nang mapagkakatiwalaan s mga civilian leaders. pati mga sundalo nagpopolitika na rin.  there are no clear choices for the people.  it seems lahat ng nangyayari are orchestrated.  all the players in this drama are serving themselves as heroes and martyrs.  pero lahat may sari-sariling interes.

wawa n naman pinas.  this is driving both foreigners and filipinos to leave the country.

though difficult to tell from what side

it could be the opposition, to fuel unrest and ultimately get the people, or the military, to revolt against the administration. they know that even in the military there is unrest. they might be counting that a little push is all that is needed to topple the administration. and if that happens, who do you think will be the ones to replace the adminstration ---> of course it will be opposition

on the other hand, it could also be the administration. they know fully well that if something happens, the first one to be blamed would be the opposition and this would give them a valid excuse to do their so called crackdown
