Abdul Rahim Janael, a four-year old boy, whose parents are from Balo-i, Lanao del Norte, survived – thanks to Duterte Administration's Philhealth Z-Benefit Package for Congenital Health Conditions.

"President Rodrigo Duterte and the Department of Health (DOH), through PhilHealth, helped the young patient, from a less fortunate family, get a corrective surgery with no out-of-pocket (expenses) at all," Health Secretary Paulyn Jean B. Rosell-Ubial disclosed.

Little Janael was diagnosed with ventricular septal defect, or a hole in the heart, and went under the knife at the Philippine Heart Center for congenital heart disease treatment on November 11.

The boy is all well and actively playing now.

The government through PhilHealth's Z-Benefit Package for Congenital Health Conditions shouldered the high cost of treatment. The Z-Benefit Package is being offered to PhilHealth members, including their qualified dependents, to address health conditions that trigger prolonged hospitalization and very expensive treatments.

True to his words, the President, through the DOH, is providing Filipinos, especially the underserved, equal access to quality health care and medical services.

"Everyday across the country, we are helping more and more poor Filipinos access quality health care with no cash out," Secretary Ubial added.

Ventricular septal defect is regarded as one of the most common congenital heart defects and entails expensive treatment.

health benefits should be available to all particularly to the poor of our society... hope this program benefits the intended target of the society...

Is that one of  Philhealth's functions? To support and help every filipinos healthcare needs. Whether paying or non-paying members, as part of the government social welfare to the filipino masses. You don't need to acknowledge someone's SINGLE accomplishment, especially if that accomplishment  is the main part of there duties and functions. That goes with Duterte too. You don't to shout out loud those things because that what the Philhealth supposed to be doing eversince. A tap on the back is enough, just like in the saying "all in a day's work". Then again, it is the Presidential Communications. What do you expect. It's their duty and responsibility.

A simple analogy: Nakapagbayad at lumabas ka na ng taxi, nang bumalik ang taxi para ipaalala at sabihin na "ipinagmaneho kita".

Hindi sa binabalewala ko ang ginawang tulong ng Philhealth at presidente natin sa bata. Dahil ito ang patunay na malaking tulong ang ginawang pagpapalawak ng serbisyo ng Philhealth dahil yun sa presidente. At marami pang matutulongan ito kung lahat ng tao ay may Philhealth, hindi dahil bumoto ka sa nanalong pulitiko o kababayan mo ang presidente. Dahil ito ay parte ng ating karapatan at tungkulin ito na dapat gawin ng gobyerno.

The Z-package has been available since 2013.  I am certain there have been many cases like this since then, not just under the present administration.

Bro, Its a simple good news of a poor kid being saved by philhealths benefit package. Whats the big deal here?

You dont have to credit duterte for it if thats your problem. 
But you cant refuse to acknowledge these things just because you think its being used as an accomplishment of an individual. Just take it as the title says.

As far as the title goes anyways and in my own personal view, its PHILHEALTH on the spotlight not the president.

Clearly, you didn't get my point. If you re-read the article and my post you will see why I expressed those things. And to be clear I'm very happy that the boy got cured, hoping that more people, especially those from far flung areas get their readily available social welfares without delay from our government.
