Liberal Party presidential bet Mar Roxas is fed up with Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s yakking and posturing and is challenging the presidential front runner to a fistfight to settle their score once and for all.
“Gawin mo na lang kung anong gusto mong gawin. At sampalan? Bakit pa sampalan, pambabae ‘yan, suntukan na lang? Di ba? Simpleng-simple lang ito,†said Roxas in an interview following his meeting with Mindanao leaders at LP-Balay in Cubao, Quezon City.
“Kaya kung hindi ka pa nakaharap ng iyong katapat Digong, andito ako. Hindi kita aatrasan,†added Roxas.Duterte said that he would seek out Roxas in his territory in Cubao to slap him in the face. Roxas said he would wait for Duterte at his house at 157 P. Tuazon Avenu, Cubao, Quezon City. Roxas said he would also advise Duterte when he lands on his turf in Davao City.
“Alam n’yo, itong tigas-tigasan, itong siga-siga, bumenta na yan eh. Gasgas na ‘yan. Akko, galit ako sa bully. Galit ako sa mga nagsasamantala. Galit ako sa mga naghahari-hari. Galit ako sa mga mabibigat ang kamay. Galit ako sa mga tao na akala nila [na] sila lang ang kapangyarihan dito sa bansa natin,†added Roxas.
Roxas said he was normally mild-mannered and he was disappointed with himself that he got distracted by Duterte.
He said he has merely replied to Duterte’s slapping threat, dispute Duterte’s claim that his Wharton diploma was bogus (Roxas said Wharton itself has declared he was one of its alumni), and denied Duterte’s accusation that he was behind the black propaganda that Duterte was sick with cancer.
“Ako isang marangal na tao. Hindi ako gumagawa ng ganoong bagay. Sinabi ko na na wala akong kinalaman, tanggapin niya. Ayaw niyang tanggapin? E di sorry na lang. Pero malinis ang konsensya ko na wala akong kinalaman sa kung anong mga black propaganda na sinasabi niya,†Roxas said.
