So criticizing one of his actions means being completely against him? It can't be that some of us expect some tactfulness for a potential president of the Philippines?
Also he is a dictator in the making, if he wins he will be a dictator he said as much in a recent interview, but if that changes the Philippines for the better then I have no problem with it.
seriously yung sasabihin ni duterte ang iniisip mo? Just choose, words or actions. im sure he will fumble with his words, but that's who he is. actions and discipline is what our country needs not words. SMH.
Why choose words or action? can't it be both? Words are equally important as actions specially for a leader of a country. You have to know when to be aggressive and when to be diplomatic.
Look, the problem with filipinos nowadays is that we are too SENSITIVE and quick to judge without knowing the whole story dahil BIAS tayo sa candidate natin.. Kaya hindi tayo umaasanso dahil sa attitude na ganyan. We tend to be blinded with emotions rather than judging the candidate through achievements, platforms and what kind of leader we need to this ailing country.. What we need is a total cleansing, a drastic CHANGE that can overhaul the corrupt system that we have for the future generation to inherit.. We don't need another MEDIOCRE type of president to rule for another 6 years that's way too much suffering to our KABABAYANS here and abroad. NOBODY is perfect, ang kailangan natin ay isang PRESIDENTE na may political WILL and MALASAKIT at hindi SANTO...
True but you have to admit that you are also biased to your candidate, nobody here is saying he is a saint or needs to be one, at the very least in this thread we know he likes to curse and I have no problem with that but if he is running for president then a little tact will benefit him greatly.
Yes the context was he was actually cursing the traffic in Manila and how it affected the people, but then why not reference the traffic caused by the INC rally (and curse INC's leader in his joke) which was more recent and, at least in my opinion, much more disruptive than the traffic caused by the Pope's visit.
The point is Duterte's supporters should not be surprised that he is receiving some backlash from his joke, he essentially provided ammo for his enemies to use against him. It was more surprising, at least for me, that Ramon Bautista's "hipon" remark received significant backlash and was even forced to issue a public apology for such a common joke from a known comedian.
So a lot of the response here says that if you criticize Duterte you are completely against him (i.e. you don't like him so don't vote for him) and essentially against the betterment of the Philippines. Black and white, no middle ground.
