CBCP: Ice Bucket Challenge Money Should Not Go To Unethical Research

As the number of people taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge grows all over the world, the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) cautioned the faithful who wish to take part in the challenge not to do so just to be part of a popular trend -- and also to make sure that their donations aren't put to use in ALS research that violates human dignity.

because of embryonic stem cell which came from Embryos that are 3 to 5 days old if the Catholics are against abortion then they are also against Stem cell procedure like Embryonic stem cell

the only reason why people do the ALS ice bucket challenge is because the US Government didn't want to put money for this sickness so some celebrity and popular personality do it to raise money to find cure

but we are living in the social media era where anything cute , funny or so to say trending is a must do thing just to say your not getting lost or off track of what's happening

around you and the world

 it's not I am against ALS Ice Bucket. . . if you do it then you did it but the questions are why? and did you know what it is for? and have you really donated for the cause or you do it for the likes on facebook?

may sense. a way to find a cure against als is to harvest stem cells on human embryos, which have developing nervous system. either they will make a new drug from it or use it to test efficiency of a drug they will develop for als.

ganun naman sa research, you need to consider ethical and moral issues to proceed, specially pag my human trials na kasama.

sa pagkakaalam ko e may stem cell tayo kahit matanda na kinukuha ata sa bone marrow

Hindi lang naman iisa ang way to gather stem cell , may embryonic stem cell which is from the embryo  meron din non-embryonic yun yung nakukuha na sa adults

I think they are still researching for animal embryo kung pwede sa tao
