Attn Nerds:Here's the stars of 'Star Wars VII'
« on: April 29, 2014, 01:57:43 pm »

JJ Abrams-directed Star Wars VII (yes, Star Trek and Star Wars are directed by the same guy now). It’s set for release December 18th, 2015, and Disney just revealed the cast:

John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver [pictured, left], Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow will join original stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker in “Star Wars: Episode VII.”

Star Wars VII begins shooting in a couple of weeks, and hits theaters in December 2015.

As Sandy Schaefer of Screenrant asked: is the seating arrangement in this photograph a clue regarding the relationships of the characters?

si!seigneur, just a moon moon moon away  :D

I find it hard to believe that Disney is in such a hurry to put up another franchise. Then again, the budgets that go into making the Marvel movies must actually be eating away at their sizable fortune (box office profits notwithstanding). Maybe Star Wars is supposed to help defray the costs since Pixar can't do it by themselves.

Here's the Lupita scoop: She will be playing a character named Asajj Ventress.

According to ONTD (that link also has spoilers), this is what Asajj Ventress looks like:

First Footage from set of Star Wars & a chance for you to be in it!
Filming on Star Wars Episode VII started in Abu Dhabi just five days ago, and director J.J. Abrams has already posted footage from the desert set. Abrams is notorious for going to great lengths to shut down leaks—he literally built a wall to prevent spying on the Star Trek 2 set—but he'll make an exception for charity.

This peek at the set and some of the creatures doubles as a fundraising announcement for UNICEF Innovation Labs, through the celebrity raffle site Omaze. Abrams is giving away a trip to the London set and a cameo in the film to one lucky winner.

In response to Twitter hashtag #WeWantLeia, which was spurred by Disney telling a parent in May that “there are no plans for Leia products” at the Disney Store, the corporation has announced “several items that will feature Princess Leia.”

Harrison Ford's injuries may be worse
« Reply #15 on: June 14, 2014, 03:33:25 pm »

Maybe all of those jokes about Harrison Ford being injured when the Millennium Falcon door fell on him on the set of the new Star Wars film were a bit too soon. Word has it that Ford is in worse condition than previously thought -- and that his wife, Calista Flockhart, is rushing to be by his hospital bed.

Reportedly, Harrison received much more than a bump and a bruise -- he could have a pelvic injury and may have received a chest X-Ray. Originally, we thought he'd merely hurt his ankle, but it sounds like a lot more than that. via

Plus, Harrison isn't exactly Indiana Jones anymore. He still looks great, but at 71-years-old, he's more Indiana Grandpa. Bones are much more brittle in your advanced years and it doesn't take much to break them. And they take longer to heal. ^

Now Leia's really going to be on Han's case about selling that piece-of-junk Corellian freighter (or returning it to Lando) when he gets discharged from the hospital.

A hint report to the villains of Star Wars VII
« Reply #17 on: June 17, 2014, 12:02:44 pm »

According to Making Star Wars, the villains are… Sith groupies! Specifically, they’re a former branch of the Empire tasked with hunting down Jedi. They’re not Sith, but they have lightsabers, black-and-chrome Stormtroopers, and a serious religious devotion to the red lightsaber crew.

Apparently Luke has been keeping these guys from killing potential Jedi for the last thirty years.

Tom effing Cruise might be in 'Star Wars II'
« Reply #22 on: June 25, 2014, 05:28:10 am »

Rumors are burbling up that Tom Cruise might be in the movie.

Word is Cruise recently met with J.J. Abrams in London to discuss some sort of role in Episode VII.The Sun reports that Cruise, who's in London, met in a hotel with Abrams to discuss the possibility of a cameo appearance in the sci-fi film's seventh entry, which is currently filming in Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire. While the source might be a bit suspect, it's worth noting that Cruise and Abrams are already working together on Mission: Impossible 5 for a 2015 release, and the rag has nailed down Paul Bettany's role as the "Vision" in The Avengers sequel, Age of Ultron. Cruise's reps have not responded when asked to comment on the rumor's validity

well, i guess Scientology and Star Wars do kinda go together. watyuthink  seigneur BAZ?!  ;D

Given his towering physical stature, Tom Cruise is probably playing a Jawa chieftain. Or an alien of the same species as Yoda except his approach to the Force is that all beings are immortals who can only remember their immortality through repeated shame and pain.
