Globe LTE Home - LTE with limited speed
« on: April 29, 2014, 07:09:48 am »
ok so yung internet dito sa bahay pinalitan ng Globe LTE home, 999 3mbps. there are two wired computers in the house. yung pinakamalapit sa modem no problem kasi yung kasabay na cable ang gamit. nagkaron ng problem on the second computer. for some reason, ayaw mag connect. it kept on identifying and then drop over and over. so tried a few variations until finally it worked when network speed was set to only 10mbps. nung gumana na, I thought may problema lang sa LAN cable ko (maybe one or two putol). but then today when I brought my testers, crimpers, etc. ayun nakita ko na ang problema. one of the 8 cables was not responding, pero pag both ends ang nakalagay sa tester, ok naman detect lahat ng 8.

so tested all the ports of the huawei LTE router CP B593 (not the CPE model), ganun lahat. one of the 8 ayaw talaga umilaw. so i checked their cable kung bakit pag yun gamit walang problema sa pag detect. ayun 4 lang pala ang gamit ng cable nila not 8 (you need 8 to get speeds of up to 100mbps-1GB). but just to be sure, i recrimped both ends. same thing. so ayun, ganun pala style nila para may limit yung speed mo, for some reason they hardwired the ports at the back na hindi gumana yung isa sa walo. so talagang limited lang ang speed mo pag nag connect ka dun sa port na yun

that would be ok kung isang pc lang, ang problema is pag network and meron say LAN game, patay ka since up to 10mbps lang ang speed na kaya (which translates to around 1MB/s only). also kung eto lang ang limiting factor ng globe on LTE para mafix yung download speed mo, it should be relatively easy enough to bypass.

If I use another LTE router, maybe I can enjoy the true speeds of LTE (which is around 40mbps) since basically I will just be transferring the sim and the antenna connection

the daily cap though might be a problem, nasa 7GB per day lang. seems big but its actually not. a couple of streaming videos ubos agad yan

nag aapply ba sayo yung cap? some users of LTE@home report that even if they reached the imposed cap, ganun pa rin ang speed nila, hindi nababawasan.

i havent tested it since I was busy trying to get my LAN speed back to at least 100mbps para at least kung mag file transfer hindi ganun kabagal. also weekday hindi masyado heavy ang usage ng internet sa bahay. pag weekend malalaman yan

pictures for? hindi mo gets yung 4 and 8 wires sa LAN?

ganito nalang
10mbps - you need 2 pairs using 1,2,3,6 (eto yung setup ng cable na binigay nila kasama sa router)
100mbps, you need 2 pairs using 4,5,7,8 (pero usually ang gamit dito is yung typical na LAN cable na gamit lahat ng 8 wires)
1gigabit, you need all 4 pairs and your LAN card must have support for gigabit speed

and since ang ginawa ng globe sa router nila is disable nila yung 4 so you cannot get any speed higher than 10mbps. so theoretically, if you use another router you should be able to enjoy speeds higher than 10mbps since the current max speed of LTE here is up to 42mbps

As far as i know sa Mobile Internet (Data Mobile) lang applicable yung "Cap" (Capping means like a ballpen when you put yung cap nya hindi mo na magagamit)

if they can monitor it, it can be capped. lahat ng offer ng Globe AFAIK may FUP na ngayon, pero hindi applicable sa lahat dahil up to 3% lang daw at most ng users ang lalagyan ng cap, so unless sobra sobra yung DL mo , i.e. 20GB per day when 3GB /day lang yung nasa contract, hindi ka lalagyan ng cap.

But what use is high speed net when you can't download  as much as you want, right?

Protip nga pala, hanap kayo nung LTE sim ng smart, 50gb/month ang cap nun I think, 1550/mo. (50 per day) for practically unlimited downloads. ganun na lang ginagawa ko, I've had enough of useless contracts.

yes, pero 50GB ang cap dun sir, yung ginawa ko is swapping several sim cards and spending at most 50 a day (lumalampas lagi yung LTE subscription) , I wouldn't want to stick with a capped sim hehe it's worth the trouble and the extra payment, yung 50GB I can finish in maybe 4 days in my area kasi.

i've been using this b593s-22 globe lte modem ,and its working great, may kasama syang sim na naka nkapalan, 15mbps download and 8mbps upload, the downside is nka throttle ung speed pagdating sa torrenting and downloading, once na magexpire na tong sim card, ill buy smart lte sim load it up for 1k, and you have speed of almost 50mbps,with no cap.

May cap yung prepaid LTE sim sir, I'm using 4 of them at 50-70GB yung most na nakuha ko pag isa lang ginamit dirediretso , after that , papalo na lang ng 3Mbps yung connection (around 200 - 400kbps DL) that's why loading up only one is not a good idea

Ang ginagawa ko is load exactly 50php per sim, tapos halinhinan ko ginagamit, tutal once a day lang naman registration, bakit?:

a.) kakainin load mo once magexpire yung registration, no extra load = no kain load, saka usually lumalampas ng hours - days yung registration (FREE INTERNET!!), di mo mauutilize yun kung iooff mo yung 4G connection 1 day later dahil takot makainan ng load

b.) capping , 50GB ( at least ) x No. of Sim , in my case , 200GB na yun, that's enough for my purposes, dagdagan lang yung sim tataas na cap mo hehe

Sana makatulong sa mga nagtitipid gaya ko.
