help sa setup ng network namin
« on: February 20, 2014, 07:57:10 am »

may main switch/hub kami
then papasok sa kwarto nakaswitch/hub kami
may sarili " ip add" bawat computer except yun naka wireless.

ala kaming tech currently , so it is upto us lang sa opis kung paano ayusin ito.

ano po kaya possible problem and possible solution.
thank you

just a few reminders (cannot say if its the cause of your problem)

since the printer is in an XP computer, you will need additional drivers when you add the printer to windows 7 (depending on the brand and model of the printer, windows might do this automatically)
make sure the printer is shared (printer properties --> sharing)
if after sharing the printer, the windows 7 computers do not automatically detect it, add the printer manually (this is the part where you will need to install the drivers if windows does not do it for you)

also just to add up.. they should be in the same ip address range from your router.
sample if your routers ip is 192.168.1.1, all the computers should also start with 192.168.1.x
could be one of the reasons why it cant be seen on the network.

Ayun! Sir, since nasa XP ung Printer mo and all is windows 7, try to enable the file and printer sharing sa pc na may windows XP and if lahat ng computers eh nasa same IP range, just go to the WINXP pc, open control panel, then go to Printers, then kapag nakita mo na ung printer, right-click
mo yun then select properties, then after nun click mo ung sharing tab, then enable the option share printer, then lagyan mo sya ng name. then click on apply and then OK

To add the printer naman sa mga clients, ensure mo na kabisado mo ung IP nung windows XP then after nun punta ka sa windows explorer wing windows 7 Machine, then sa address bar type mo eto \\ip address of winxp pc\ then press mo enter, then after mo mapress enter, makikita mo na ung printer na nakashare, right-click mo un then select add

sabi mo may main switch kayo diba? so I will assume na may main router din kayo..

problema kasi ung printer is connected to the main LAN Switch which means ang IP nya ay galing sa main router.
