I find it more unusual that Imelda Romualdez Marcos--who is from Leyte herself--has remained quiet this entire time. I wonder if she's sent help to her nephew?

the headline in todays Philippine Daily Inquirer says PNoy mediated between Roxas and Romualdez

http://newsinfo.inquirer.net/529883/aquino-roxas-romualdez-strike-deal

sabi dun, Roxas and Romualdez were not in speaking terms kaya bumalik si PNoy sa tacloban para ipagbati sila. supposedly, Roxas wanted to take control of the LGU and Romualdez wanted to remain mayor and said that if his request for help would be granted he could do his job better

yung kay imelda naman, sa inquirer din last week ang sabi dun hindi ipinalam sa kanya dahil nasa hospital daw. pero nung day na lumabas yung article, she already knew the day before and sabi dun she immediately demanded to go to leyte kaso lang hindi pinayagan ng mga doctor and anak

Sharing this to you....

Imelda Marcos to Warays: Don't lose hope

This is the least that Leyte’s most famous daughter, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, could do from her hospital bed, even as her children and nephews were doing their share in relief efforts in the typhoon-ravaged province.

Marcos, according to information sent from Laoag City by her eldest daughter’s office, has been “dying to go to Tacloban City” upon learning of its devastation in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Yolanda (international codename: Haiyan).

Prevented by her doctors and children from leaving the hospital in Manila, however, she could only manage to write down a message: “Ayaw kawang hin paglaun. Matindog kita na mga Waray.”

In Filipino: “Huwag mawalan ng pag-asa. Babangon tayong mga Waray.” (Do not lose hope. We, Warays, will rise above this.”)
