Look at the map of Japan and the map of the Visayas region...

For now help some more.

tama naman sinabii nila we have tons of military hardware sea and air

I suggest guys if you give your donation, give it to a foundation or group na di identified to any politicians like ABS CBN.
Give your donations to the Phil Red Cross.

As for the govt, NGA NGA talaga at the moment. Imagine declaration pa nga lang ng State of Emergency took 3 days!

@Rockford
The Philippine National Red Cross is also identified with Dick Gordon who is a very active politician. I'm not saying that he is a corrupt politician, I'm just saying that a politician who has political ambitions of being the president is the head of PNRC.

I would rather choose non-aligned TV network foundations instead of PNRC, if you despise the yellow leaning network then choose Kapuso or MVP's foundation or foreign groups like ShelterBox.

To be fair with the government, hindi lang naman si Duterte yung tumutulong.
The military has been there before Davao's team made it to the area.

Sana nga lang mas bilisan at mas magdagdag pa sila ng boots on the ground.
Sinasabayan pa kasi ng NPA yung relief efforts kaya nagkakaproblema.

AFP sends more troops to Tacloban

More troops of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are now headed to Tacloban City as the military ordered the deployment of five helicopters coming from the Central Command (Centcom) to augment the six helicopters that are already performing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) operations in the area.

AFP public affairs office (PAO) chief Lt. Col. Ramon P. Zagala said the use of choppers in Tacloban to deliver relief goods will serve as a stop-gap solution until such time the additional transportation assets arrive.

Around 11 M35 trucks will leave tomorrow (November 13) at 4:00 a.m. from the Philippine Army Headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City en route to Tacloban City via Bicol to assist in the delivery of relief goods to remote areas in Eastern Visayas.

Meanwhile, the second batch of the Philippine Army’s 525th Engineering Combat Battalion together with the 1st Special Forces Battalion have already left Villamor Airbase earlier to augment the first batch of troops who left Manila together with their equipment yesterday via a Philippine Air Force C-130 aircraft.

As of Tuesday, there are 300 military engineers and Special Forces troops conducting road clearing operations in Tacloban. AFP is also allocating another 700 to augment the said troops.

The 523rd Engineer Construction Battalion from Northern Luzon Command is also en route to Centcom to aid existing troops in their HADR operations and to provide assistance in road clearing operations, support on-going evacuations, and assist efforts to restore peace and order in the area.

On the other hand, two Navy boats, DF341 and DF 352, delivered goods to the islands and coastal towns of Aklan and Northern Iloilo.

Two logistical hubs in Panay were also established last Saturday- one based in Ilo-Ilo City and the other in Roxas City conducting an average of three to four sorties by five helicopters in the areas of Capiz and Northern Ilo-Ilo.

Moreover, troops from the 82ndIB and 61stIB with M35 trucks are continuously conducting relief and rescue operations in Antique Province, Northern Ilo-Ilo and Aklan since Saturday.

@psyrock - true that Dick Gordon is identified with the PNRC but it was already proven & tested that the PNRC is always there to support its kababayans with or without Mr. Gordon, long before Mr. Gordon joined the group. PNRC is willing to help at all times infact mas nauna pa sila magpadala ng contigent nila to leyte, yun nga lang na-ambush ng mga NPA sa Samar. PNRC is always there with or without any media mileage.

yes its difficult to provide assistance in Leyte specially on its far flung barrios but the thing is the people managing the relief operations of the govt dont have the right skill set in doing the job. others would say they are just "posers". di nga natin alam kung sino in particular ang overall head ng relief operations, if its PENOY? good luck na lang!

I hail from the province of Calubian Leyte, wala pang umaabot na relief goods duon but they manage to survive. how? sila sila na lang ang  nagkusa kasama ng mga local officials nila di na nila inaantay na dumating ang mga pasalubong ni PENOY dahil malamang mamamatay silang dilat ng sama sama. they manage to have a potable water supply thru hand pump deep wells, the only thing kapos sa kanila is bigas.

UR GOVERNMENT IS READY FOR SUPER TYPHOON

Pnoy Statement !! Nov. 07, 2013

…dahil meron tayong TATLO (3) C-130... TATLUMPU'T DALAWANG (32) eroplano at helicopter from airforce...at may DALAWAMPUNG (20) barko mula sa ating Philippine Navy…

@Rockford

I was just pointing out that Gordon is also a politician because you suggested that it is better to give to organizations not aligned to any particular politician.

So just to be fair, non-aligned groups yung pagbigyan ng aid and not a group that is currently headed by a politician.

Don't get me wrong, I voted for Gordon and Bayani during the last elections, I just don't see myself giving donations to an organization that is headed by any politician.

Anyway, everyone is free to donate to any group they choose.

I also share your sentiment regarding PNoy not heading the overall relief efforts, the guy doesn't have the skill to do that. He needs to delegate it to someone who has experience, in my opinion, Governor Joey Salceda should actually head the whole process.

1986, Gordon was elected as governor of the Philippine National Red Cross, and have posed for every photo opportunity in the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of various disasters from shipwrecks, typhoons, 1990 earthquake in Cabanatuan, 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo, 2004 landslides in Aurora, Quezon and 2006 Ginsaugun, Southern Leyte mudslide and the PhilSports Arena stampede...
