Armed Forces of the Philippines Rise and Fall..
« on: September 07, 2013, 02:36:42 am »

AFP ang pangalawa sa ASEAN noong
1960s-1970s
nangunguna ang North Vietnam
sa kanilang 1 million man strong, 1,500 boat strong
at 300 MiG strong, 800AA/SAM installation military

noong 1960s - 1980s ay ung US bases

kapantay ng Thailand at nasa 2% ata ng GDP
ang pondo ng AFP. "mataas na daw un"

at ang Air Force ay may

18 airworthy F-5A/B
at 25 F-8 Crusader

kasama rin dito ang maraming supply
ng AIM-9 Sidewinder.

Nang binaril si Ninoy Aquino noong Agosto 1983
Bumaba ang GDP ng Pilipinas. -6% isang quarter

Personally, I'm of the opinion that one major reason why the AFP lost its way was because a certain president made the higher-echelon officers believe that they were above and beyond all civilian authority and the rule of law; that they were the sole foundation upon which the integrity of the Philippines stood; and that they could act with impunity under the guise of "national security" when they were simply acting in their own selfish interests.

iprioritize ang military power.  gayahin ang south korea na lahat ng citizen at a certain age is required 2 years service sa military..

i don't see the relevance of the nuclear power plant in bataan with rewspect to our nation's military capabilities.  nuclear power plant po yung bataan and not nuclear warhead or armament.  not unless we are going to use tazers directly connected to power outlets, with foreign threats, then i dont see the relevance of the BNPP.

For the past years the army is being used by the government for their personal reasons. But as of now. Aquino Administration is creating a good image of PH Army. They are improving their skills and their training also their facility. Even the Assets like aircraft , ships and land resources are improving and renewing.

Also starting from Cory her distrust of a strong AFP specially after those failed coup d'état even in Ramos time the budget of AFP is very low

I think the situation will be much different after the elections. I've seen here https://essayvikings.com/college-research-paper that Philippines are not doing the best at the moment and the army reform is currently on pause as both global and local political situation is too unstable.
