THE camp of Manny Pacquiao was quick to deny reports claiming he has gone bankrupt, insisting the boxing hero remains in control of billions worth of assets amassed from years as one of the world's highest-earning athletes.

Pacquiao’s chief of staff, Haplas Fernandez, slammed the story as "preposterous" while his mother, Mommy Dionesia, pointed to the former pound-for-pound king's numerous assets and businesses to disprove the claim made by a Cebu daily on Thursday.

Even the supposed source of the story, longtime Pacquiao confidante Rex 'Wakee' Salud, denied he ever said the Filipino hero has gone bankrupt as he hinted at a libel case against the daily.

“Wala akong sinabi na ganun. Pinalaki lang nung writer,” an irked Salud said when reached by Spin.ph. “Ang sabi ko lang … baka medyo gipit. Kasi isang taon nang walang laban, nanibago yung lifestyle. Pero hindi ko sinabi na bangkarote na.”

Salud denied telling the daily that Pacquiao has totally lost all of his money due to his well-known generosity, lavish lifestyle, and campaign expenses in polls involving not only him but wife Jinkee and a brother.

Fernandez said the bankruptcy rumors were most likely fanned by news that the Pacquiaos have put their Los Angeles house for sale for US$2.7 million.

But he insisted: “Siguro ibinase nila yun sa ibinebentang bahay ni Boss sa LA. Kalokohan yan. Walang basehan yan. Ibinebenta yun kasi wala namang nakatira. Sayang lang. Ang mahal-mahal pa ng tax.

“Nagbenta lang ng property bankrupt na?”

Fernandez bared that Pacquiao is very much in control of his prime estates in Manila including a mansion in the posh village of Forbes Park.

The Pacman also owns two more mansions in Paranaque, which according to Fernandez are also rarely used, and another in Binan, Laguna near Brent International School which his kids attend.

Bahala na sila,” added the younger brother of Pacquiao assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez.

His mother, Dionisia, claimed the two-term congressman recently transformed a two-hectare property in Sarangani into a low cost housing project which he gave away to poor families there.

“Ganun kabait sa kapwa ang anak ko. Kaya kung naubos man yung pera niya, talagang itinutulong niya. Hindi naman niya sinusugal. Mapagbigay siya talaga,” she said.

Mommy Dionisia even bared that his son maintains numerous businesses in Mindanao, Manila and even in the US.

Hindi man siya bangkarote,” stressed the popular mom.

I once read that Manny is building a golf course in the province.Ifnot marketed and packaged well, he can lose billions in that business.

He needs a team of investment advisers. It is a dream job for me to serve as his chief financial adviser. I think I can make him richer over time. But then, that is just me, a dreamer, a confident one at that.

I think his heart is pure as well.

It's not that people want Manny Pacquiao to plummet back to poverty; it's that they wish he would be more prudent with his money. It's all well and good that he and his family are enjoying a much higher standard of living now but what about the future? Wouldn't it be more comforting for him to know that they'll still be enjoying that same standard of living after God calls him up to the great boxing arena in the sky because he didn't squander his fortune on useless or unnecessary expenses?

in the US? answer will be NO

why?

we have to pay property tax , like i said if you own a house here in the US you also need to pay the taxes even tho your not living here , so if you don't earn this year and you own a property then your screwed and will be force to be evicted and some of your things will be seized as payment

so if you own a house you have to pay for the following even tho your not there living

Energy , Mortgage , Water , Gas that's a monthly bill you have to pay even though your not using it but every home in the US has its own Gas , Water and electric lines installed once you bought the property , the Optional are Cable ( that includes Telephone , Internet and TV which cost $200 a month for some and some company like Comcast offers security for your home which is another monthly payment ) and if you own a Car yes you also have to pay it monthly

and you have to declare those to your tax even if you sell your house you still have to declare it because it was part of your earning for the current year you sell your house

property values in the US depends on the City or Place you live , for example in Santa Clara the new Levi Stadium was built there for the San Francisco 49ers

but before that Tech Giants like Facebook and Google and Silicon Valley were Base in Santa Clara County so its not just yearly it also depends on the current business or company thats being structured at your place

so it really depends on where your house were build , and it also effect the property condition if your place is like City of Oakland even tho your famous but your place is not that good

your property value will fall big

Rich and Famous people like to live in quite places , they didn't like the noise even a girl scout selling a cookies on their door

Ahhh, so sinasabi mo na maraming property si pacquaio sa US, na hindi niya kayang bayaran ang tax and expenses? Don't tell me na kung $15m worth ang value ng property ni pacman every year $1m tax? kung tax lang din yang snasabi mo iho. kayang kaya nila yan. at as far as i know isa lang ang bahay niya sa us which is ung nsa L.A na so hihirap pala si pacman dahil dun sa pag bayad ng tax and expenses na snsabi mo?  ::laffman

And then WHAT? until now nasakanya pa din yan lahat. Kamusta ang FLOW of income niya? Edi lahat papasok TAMA BA MGA SIR?

Lets say after 2-3years. hindi na siya mag boboxing, and worst case wla na siyang shows and commercial. BTW, according to forbes 2014 his net worth is $100m+ hihirap pa kaya siya sa dami ng negosyo niya? I DONT THINK SO MGA KA ESPIYA.

taga California kasi ako , and business ng family ko bumili ng property tapos aayusin then flip agad to make good money

para sa akin , he needs to kasi [1] tumaas ang economy dito sa US so tumataas din ang presyo ng bahay and  [2] he didn't earn any money this year kung may bahay sya dito sa US kelangan nya mag bayad ng income tax

or matutulad sya kay Money Mayweather

diba most rich people who didn't earn any money file for bankruptcy? just to keep there income tax low i think?

most rich people file bankruptcy to just keep their tax low , yung iba nag dodonate sa mga charity sa Pinas lalo ka pa sisingilin

there is a posibility pacman will have a some difficulty paying his taxes abroad because he is not a dollar earner and why we are concern for him because he was the pride of the Philippines so if he fail the filipino people fails and we don't care if he his a billionaire or the richest man in the world

Aah, talagang gusto mo yan?
