i've tried painting using spray cans and have had pretty good results with them. kaso those were small and not so complicated pieces. with this, medyo mahihirapan ka kasi maraming nooks and crannies na mahirap i-coat evenly. the only advice i can give is to paint in very thin coats, then let it dry. just keep repeating that until you get an even coat. i think powder coating is better for this than painting.
