A chance for Marcos loyalists to elect FM Jr. for president or VP in 2016.
I will still go for Binay for 2016.
May the best man win. And may the winner get the support of all the Filipino people.
Letter says Marcos' presidential run 'inevitable'
MANILA -
A letter expressing support for Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. as a presidential candidate in the 2016 elections caught the senator by surprise.
"I don't know what this is supposed to be," he said while skimming through the letter, which was distributed to the Senate media on Tuesday. The letter, addressed to former First Lady and now Rep. Imelda Marcos, called Marcos' presidential run "inevitable."
Among the signatories is lawyer Oliver Lozano, who called his organization Kilusang Bagong Liwanag (KBL) in the letter.KBL (Kilusang Bagong Lipunan) was the political party of Sen. Marcos' father, the late former President Ferdinand Marcos, who was ousted in the 1986 EDSA Revolution.
"That's new to me. I've never heard of Kilusang Bagong Liwanag before," Sen. Marcos said.
Asked what his reaction was to the call for him to run for president, Marcos answered, "Confused."
"Hindi ko alam kung ano ang ibig sabihin nito. Baka sine-set up din ako," he said.
Marcos is often touted as a possible candidate for president or vice president in the 2016 polls.
He does not want to confirm anything, however, only saying he will remain in politics in 2016.
"In 2016, I'll be candidate. What for? Tingnan natin. I'm not leaving politics in 2016," Marcos said.
"I intend to be involved in the elections of 2016 as a candidate for something."http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/focus/08/06/13/bongbong-gets-letter-supporting-presidential-run
