ARRC proÂposes to develop the PhilipÂpine Air force’s Danilo Atienza AirÂbase and reclaim a porÂtion of Manila Bay surÂroundÂing area of into a world class InterÂnaÂtional AirÂport designed not only to ease the conÂgesÂtion of the Manila’s Ninoy Aquino InterÂnaÂtional AirÂport but to proÂvide pasÂsenÂgers and tourists with a more pleaÂsurÂable and memÂoÂrable expeÂriÂence through ultra modÂern facilÂiÂties and conÂveÂniences.
There are two phases to this project:
Phase 1: (TarÂget Date 2014−2018−20)
ReclaÂmaÂtion of 2,500 hectares on the flight line side of the Danilo Atienza AirÂbase.
CreÂation and develÂopÂment of a pasÂsenÂger terÂmiÂnal and two-way runÂway sysÂtem in order to increase the curÂrent capacÂity of the Ninoy Aquino InterÂnaÂtional airÂport (NAIA) from approxÂiÂmately 31 MilÂlion pasÂsenÂgers to 50 MilÂlion pasÂsenÂgers per year.
Phase 2: (2020−2025)
ReloÂcaÂtion of the curÂrent Danilo Atienza AB to runÂway 6 – 24 of the NAIA comÂplex.
InstalÂlaÂtion of a Next GenÂerÂaÂtion (NextGen) Air TransÂportaÂtion SysÂtem to help manÂage Metro Manila air trafÂfic.
OperÂaÂtion and manÂageÂment of a ferry serÂvice between Danilo Atienza AB and BouleÂvard 2000 Area. DevelÂopÂment of an addiÂtional 30 MilÂlion passengers-per-year AirÂport TerÂmiÂnal and the conÂstrucÂtion of the SecÂond RunÂway SysÂtem.
