Today, I declare defeat, in defeat I give in
For I am about to tell the tale that I don't even know how to begin
A tale of sadness, a deep wound that would never heal
In this poem, I beg, I beg to not feel
But when you get lost, get lost in love
You lose all yourself, piece by piece
You think you can, do more and above
You give what you have, even fall down on your knees
When you get lost, lost deep in love
You think you have conquered the world
You might have found your one true love
But in the end, you will be robbed
Of innocence and of your belief
That love is all that you'd ever need
You'd lose your sense, your power to think
Loving then is one thing you wish you never did
'Cause when you get lost in love, in love you get lost
In the road of life that you once cherished most
The ground beneath you and the sky up above
Does not make sense, when you fall in love
When you give your heart, your heart you give away
To the one you love, who will hurt you in any way
You will crumble and fall, fragile and all
You can no longer stand as sturdy and tall
And when I fell in love, I thought I had it all
I thought there's an exemption, a better person among them all
But I know now that I am deeply wrong
All of the sudden, it made sense, all those sad, sad, sad songs
Now that I got nothing, not even a heart to mend
To this poem I offer a fragment of my love, that I thought has no end
