oh well, automatic reflex of government hounded by constant event like this.  however, complete gun control is and will never be the solution.  have you not heard of the news then of a similar incident nuetralized by a off-duty security guard "packing heat" because he has a CCW permit?

sa solusyon mo eh di mas lalong YAYAMAN ang mga ulupong na nakaupo sa magandang pwesto.  hindi mo ba alam or nabalitaan man lang na ang mga nasasamsam na gamit ng mga NPA ay may tatak ng DND?  at hindi basta boxes of 30 rounds, etc but crates upon crates.  if you'd say na yun yung nakukuha sa mga naambush nila, aba dapat nasa ammo box or individual magazines na, hindi crates.  or hindi mo napanood yung sa Ampatuan?  di ba DND issued yung mga baril at bala na natagpuan?  released sa inventory ng DND pero wala na sa MR pagdating sa baba.    meron pa nga akong "ilang" kahon ng 5.56 na may tatak na DND arsenal.

ang solusyon sa problema ay magkaroon ng mahigpit na pagsala or "filter" ng mga aplikante sa pagmamay-ari ng baril.  ganun din sa PTC.  tapos mabigat na parusa sa mga lumalabag.  life imprisonment para sa mahuhulihan ng iligal na baril, etc.  ang kaso kasi dito sa atin eh nagkalat ang mga kriminal na gumagamit ng baril.  tapos ang sagot ng mga "marurunong" eh gunless society!  pag gunless society ba sigurado kayo na hindi na gagamit ng baril ang mga kriminal na yan?  sa US nga eh mas mababa ang crime rate sa mga states na may "liberal" CCW policy.  bakit?  nagdadalawang-isip ang mga kriminal dahil baka may "dala" ang susunod nilang biktima.  responsible gun owners ang dinidikdik sa perwisyong ginagawa ng mga kriminal at sa iilang kamalian ng mga licensed holders.  eh papaano kung sabihin ko sa inyo na isang SIBILYANG tulad ko eh nagamit na ng baril para MABAWASAN ang mga kriminal sa lansagan?  ilan pa kaya ang pwedeng itumba, holdapin, halayin, etc, etc ng mga yun?  as for me good thing eh wala pa namang namamatay dahil sa baril na hawak ko, pero parehas ba ang RESPONSIBLE GUN OWNERS at mga kriminal?  pag gusto nila talaga ng gunless society, eh di ipagbawal na rin natin ang baril sa pulis at sundalo para ang linyang "if gun is outlawed only outlaws will have guns" ay maging totoo.

sorry about my rant previously.  i am just pissed since i had a recent incident involving a policeman "implying" that us "civies" will have a "harder" time because of this law.  his BAD BLOOD came about because i didn't lent him a rifle of mine he was trying to borrow recently.  T^&g@ lang eh, licensed tapos papahiram.  kung gusto niya eh di pahiram din niya sa akin yung nakaMR na m14 niya sa akin.  tapos dahil sa hindi napahiram eh aasta na ng ganun.  o eh di try niya "ipatupad" yang batas na yan when the time comes.  hihingi ng force multiplier tapos pag hindi napagbigyan sa isang kahilingan eh parang batang nagmamaktol! 

back to topic, pansinin ninyo na most of the suspects involved in random shootings are "loners", etc, etc.  masyado kasi malakas ang peer pressure at bullying, kasama na diyan ang discrimination by color, race, etc sa US kaya pag napuno ang pent-up emotions ng mga yan eh yan ang resulta.  strict gun measures, not complete gun control.  here are links of interest for the topic.

pag responsible naman kasi ang may hawak ng baril eh wala magiging problema.  without even mincing a word back then, i was able to "silently convert" two anti-gun female friends into a pro-gun back then.  i was "discovered" to be packing when i signalled to a mall guard that i need to sign in their logbook.  so ayun, nabuking na nagdadala.  several incidents, that they thought, id wave and resort to my gun, wherein i literally let the situation "simmer down", did they realize that the mind is the most potent weapon.  both even asked me to give them a tutorial on basic firearm handling and we even went to an indoor range.  one even said that it is really true that having a firearm gives an added sense of security, knowing that you have something to protect yourself, if and when the NEED arises.  and that need, as like what i always say, is when there is clear and potent danger to me, those that are dear to me, and those that are around me.
