BPI says all ATMs, EPS are down

MANILA, Philippines - Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) on Monday evening said its automated teller machines (ATM) and electronic payment systems (EPS) are "currently unavailable."

On its official Twitter (@TalktoBPI), the Ayala-led bank said: "Our ATM and EPS systems are currently unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience and shall post an update once services are restored." This was posted at around 7 p.m.

While BPI cardholders cannot withdraw from BPI's ATM system, the bank said they can use other banks' ATMs.

"As of this time, our technical team advised that you may use other banks' ATMs to withdraw. Please wait for further announcements regarding our own ATM system recovery. Thank you for bearing with us," BPI said on Twitter.

However, some BPI cardholders complained they cannot access their accounts using other banks' ATMs.

No other details were available as of this posting.
