an incumbent barangay captain punched an incumbent vice mayor who is running for the mayoralty seat. Vice Mayor lost in the fistfight prompting his "bodyguards" to fire what they say are "warning shots", six according to the report and to my source. high ranking pnp who was interviewed regarding the incident said "we have to look into the incident as to why it happened". WTF, you really have to look as to why it happened not what really happened? assuming that the ones who discharged their firearm have valid GUNBAN exemption, thus that also license them to fire whenever they please? ano kaya ibig sabihin nitong ungas na ito na look into why it happened? like say pag ang dahilan ba ng away nila ay para lang sa isang kendi eh "unreasonable" na yun at pwede na sila kasuhan? eh pag sampung "kendi" kaya ang ugat ng away "valid reason" na siya? binale-wala na nung pnp personnel yung sinabi nung reporter na merong hawak na cctv footage ang mga barangay officials regarding the incident dagdag pa ang mga shells na narecover ng mga pulis. likewise, i am in the general vicinity of the place where such incident happened, and i never saw any "lockdown" that happened in the said municipality as well as the neighboring municipalities / cities. it is like the authorities are "blind" into what happened and like they are saying "ay si vice pala, padaanin ninyo".
from rosales, lets go somewhere you'd pass when you go to baguio. re-electionist mayor had his opponent' houses searched and likewise under 24/7 surveillance by the police as to hinder them into vote-buying as well as other illegal activities. ironically, the same police provide extra security in the properties of said official, while he entertains thousand upon thousands of would-be voters each day and handing to them mini-envelopes containing 500 pesos.
in my hometown dagupan, a certain comelec official said that there are only a few "common poster area violation" in their area, however if you look around, there seem to be not a small space that was spared from campaign materials. trees, post, waiting shed, government buildings, heck even the bridge is not spared. when you say a few ba, do you actually mean a few thousand?
dito sa pangasinan, talamak ang poster ng isang party list wherein you can see the picture of a nominee. akala ko ba "advocacy" based ang party list system and not personality based? tapos moral values ang adhikain, eh sa umpisa pa lang ang lakas "makasira" ng true intention of the party list system. and lets no longer talk about said person's reputation. moral values anyone?
