Care to invest in life insurance?
« on: February 13, 2013, 08:59:25 am »
fellow espiya, medjo matagal na akong hindi ng popost dito i would just like to share what i know about life insurance policies might help us in terms of financial security.

i'd like to point out that life insurance is a must for us Filipinos

think about it: if we die, which is inevitable, what is the best financial tool to secure our dependents basic needs? - life insurance.

problem here is: most Filipinos don't look at the bigger picture, basta friend ng refer ng product and say good things about it they tend to get one as well without any research sa background ng company. madaling i-google ang mga insurance companies na yan, pwede ka rin kumita sa insurance (endowment plans) un nga lang long term atleast its for the future.

kaya mga kaespiya. maginvest na tayo sa life insurance and other investment products out there :)

I agree maganda naman tlaga ang life insurance and its other coverage kaso nga lang dahil sa mga nagsisiradong mga insurance company si juan dela cruz ay natatakot na baka malagay sa tubig and pinaghirapan :)

for me, mas okay na insurance company ay ang mga :

PHILAM LIFE
COCO LIFE
SUN LIFE

dahil na rin sa tatag ng company nila :)

Life insurance is a good investment.  Personally, I got a life insurance/ mutual fund combo and a pure mutual fund investment.

My fund is up around 12% since September.  It's a riskier investment but I am in it for the medium term so ok lang sa akin.

I got Philam pala.

Life is not about the people who act true to your face,

It's about the people who remain true behind your back.

medyo complicated siya so i ha to talk to my friend who was an agent.  marami na kasing options ngayon.

get the option best suited for your risk appetite and your needs.

just go with the top companies and you'll be safe.

sabi ng isang poster, philam (where i bought), sun-life, aig.  ewan ko kung ano pa ang ok.

it's good na interesado ka mag invest.  mahirap kasi sa karamihan ng pinoy, pag may pera, gastos agad sa gadgets.  ako rin guilty ako diyan.... dati. lolz.

tandaan mo lang, the bigger the income, the bigger the risk involved. you can go for sure bets like government bonds pero mababa ang returns.  parang 8% per annum, maswerte ka na.  pero safe siya at better pa rin kesa nasa bangko.  most insurance companies offer this as well.

thank you mga ka espiya at interested kayo sa topic

@ericjohn1986 - may tama ka. but its not just the big 3. marami na insurance companies and the best ones have bank partners. take a look at axa partner mertobank, sunlife grepa: rcbc, generali philippines: BDO, philam: BPI, manulife: chinabank, cocolife: UCPB. yan ang masabi ko na matatag.

@piningerZ - true, it its riskier. rule of thumb the higher the rates the riskier the investment where with or without insurance. sa case mo u have a variable insurance good side is malaki ang kikitain nyan 12% is good in bad situations kung hindi maganda ang investment ng variable insurance mo u have to pay the deficit yun ay kung mag-negative ung funds.

@meteorfreak - you need advice my friend. sabi nga ng mga financial planners "let money work for you". question, HOW? invest. invest now while your still young and capable of working. regarding sa mga insurance companies na ng sasara, 1st is because wala silang bank partner, kahit gaano ka tagal nyan it doesnt mean matatag. 2nd ung investments nila, you have to be aware kung saan nila invest. take CAP for example. ng invest cla sa lupa. bumili cla ng lupa sa province nung dumating na ang tuition wala cla mahugot sa nainvest nila kasi hindi madali ibenta ang lupa sa probinsya.

@Don One - tried PMing you but to no avail. ahaha cyberspace is getting smaller. wanna invest? ahaha

@gkhan - sorry to bust your balls but prudential life has file bankruptcy as far as i know roughly 10 Billions pesos and deficit nila. but manulife is stable lalo na't meron sila chinabank.

@drailph - st. peter is close to getting a spot with the great insurance companies. problema lang kc sa kanila ung ibang agents nila misleading makabenta lang. just be aware.

@rylie_69 - what do you mean?

@idiot - there is truth to what you say. pero hindi lahat ng sara. some insurance companies still stand tall because there are good at investing and getting financial partners. take BDO for example. number 1 bank in the RP is also connected to SM group of companies na kita mo all over the phillipines. what i want to point out is dont close you doors to financial institutions (insurance companies) the are there for a reason. peace :) btw we cant say na hindi maganda ang companies na ngbibigay ng dividends. perspective lang yan its still income. dividends are not guaranteed but if a company earn so much the creditor of the dividends get a handful of cash as well.

@adjoiving - tama.

wala pang Insirance company ang nag sara yung nag sara is Preneed company gaya ng CAP!

anyway to the topic:

Its really good to invest in insurance "invest" po gamit ko na term kasi may potential na lumago ang pera mo! Lalu na ang Variable life nila you have the option where to invest may option kapa to switch for example gusto mo ng Shares stocks and equity ikaw bahala so pili ka anu gusto mo high risk high reward or low risk low return.

So far PhilAm has the best product yung Sun Life ok din! Ayun sa trend ng market ngayun yung mga high risk gaya ng stock exchange ang magandang option.

anyway baka magtataka kayu bakit may option nito kasi yan ang baging trend ngayun for variable life insurance. may financial pooling sila then may fund managers to where to invest.

@Ilonggo-by-blood - TAMA! but we also have other choices. pag VUL kasi 80-20. 80% guaranteed capital 20% risk. you could also get a traditional life na participating with guaranteed lifetime payouts, kaso ung mga products na to pinupull out out na :)
