I watched Emmanuelle when I was a teenager around 1985 - 1989. Thank you for sharing this news article. It clearly describes what the series was.
It's so sad to see another story of a beautiful woman who lived a life of abuse.
"a turbulent personal life blighted by addictions to drugs and alcohol, and her search for a father figure which had resulted in several abusive relationships with older men."
This is the true image of many people nowadays. What's worse than this picture is that of the abusers: the father, the brother, the cousin, the uncle, the friend, the boyfriend...the stranger watching the shared scandal video.
This, again made me reflect on my own life, and examine my own conscience: Will I be added among the abusers?...or will I choose the role that is rarely taken...to defend her, to fight for her and be the one who will not think unclean thoughts about her...and do all this for love, for truth...and give myself,to serve without counting the cost.
Then maybe I might feel a little of that which is called honor...something that had the greatest value during the time of knights, champions.... heroes.
