Oprah Winfrey say's via NBC News

"I have reservations with the results. If the only basis is the Q and A portion, after having been trimmed down to 5, Ms. Philippines deserved to win. What made her different from the rest is that she had no seconds to rethink of her answer as she had no interpreter to break the ice. The rest had their interpreters and having breaks on seconds to think about their answers. Hands down, Ms. Philippines answered straight to the point."

 finger4u Ms. Oprah. :)

1st love niya is yung God niya. Kung hindi tanggap ng guy ang 1st love niya better not marry him na lang ganun ka importante ang God niya. So bakit mali ang sagot niya? ;D

having a interpreter she can relax more and can delay her answer therefore give her more time to think  kase kung titigna mo yung itsura ni supsup panget yung projection nya sa pagsagot

sabi sa interview ni Venus Raj yung interpreter ay mangagaling sa Miss universe committee sila ang mag-provide nito para sa Philippines therefore kung pipili sila ng interpreter e maintindihan yung accent ng interpreter ma deliver nila in a more nice and exciting way

if you watched closely those interpreter gave life to the answer of the candidates

mali kase most the judges are american  or liberated and their culture is more liberal than us therefore this answer alone is a turn off to the judges leah salonga lang naman conservative na kasama sa panel may kasama silang judges na lalake medyo panira ng moment

People are forgetting, It's a BEAUTY PAGEANT!  It's not a Battle of the Brains, or Jeopardy.. It is a beauty contest!
Now, saying that, it was so obvious that among the top 5, Ms. Angola was the most beautiful. And it would've took Ms. Philippines to have an Amazing answer to have even a slight chance to win the crown.
What's wrong with her answer?
-For one, it really didn't help that she answered in English. Most Pinoys think she got it right. Well, she didn't. Filipinos speak textbook English. We always use words that are politically correct, but usually not used by most Americans or Brits in everyday conversation. All they understood by her answer was this. "That she would not marry! " (The question was not whether she would marry or not but will she change her belief). And what most Americans, including most of the judges probably, was that "GOD was a person! "  Then she went on talking, and the sad part was that she got the answer right in her last few words. "If the guy loves me, he should also love my God." It was a case of saying too much, when needed was a simple yes,no, and why/why not.
She is intelligent, I know. But the thing about second language, (if you don't know) is that when asked a question, let's say in English. A person would formulate his/her answer in her native tongue in her head before translating it to the second language. GETS?  And I'm sure she got it right in her head (in Tagalog/Bisaya). The words just came out wrong when she started to speak in English.
We got the point in her answer. We're good at that. But the judges really didn't. It just came out Average.
And I also wanted to point out how we Filipinos answer beauty pageant questions. Why do we always have to start by repeating the words in the question? E.g. If you would change anything about yourself...?   A Filipino contestant would surely answer like this " If I were to change anything about myself...blah,blah" I mean who speaks like that???  If you ask a kid "Iho/Iha, anong pangalan mo, would she answer " Ang pangalan ko po ay..."?
I would just like to suggest that if our contestant is not Fil-am, Fil-Brit, Fil-Aussie, please send her to the states or somewhere where she can practice & be comfortable in her English. If not, Just use an INTERPRETER!
