"Following their controversial "Pilipinas, Kay Ganda" campaign, the Department of Tourism (DOT) has announced the new domestic campaign called "Pilipinas, Tara Na!" reports Yahoo Philippines.

DOT Secretary Alberto Lim said the campaign is meant to encourage Filipinos to travel within the Philippines rather than visit other countries. "We want to put a little more emphasis on domestic (travel) because it's the backbone of tourism. If you go to any hotel, they'll say 30 percent of the rooms are for foreign visitors and 50 percent are for domestic (ones).

Lim told Yahoo Philippines that people recognize the new slogan because it was derived from the slogan "Tara Na, Biyahe Tayo." Lim said, "We will resurrect the (old campaign) song. We're going to play it again with a new cast maybe a little differently." He added that he is sure that "there will be no objections" to the new campaign."

uh, di ko pa rin talaga gets ano bang meron at dapat palitan ung wow e maganda naman na un. mapapalusot ko to just because ang palusot nila is to promote domestic travel kaya tagalog (at dahil hindi kasingbantot pakinggan ng Pilipinas kay Ganda), although kahit pa anong understandable language yan pag walang extrang pera ang mga tao hindi pa rin nila talaga magagawa na mamasyal sa bansa. It's unfortunate that we learn in school all about our natural resources like the coral reefs and chocolate hills but not all of us will ever have a chance to appreciate them in person simply because most of us can't spare a lot of money for travel. Kaya mas maganda pa rin sana na ang targetin ng tourism is yung mga taga-ibang bansa kasi malaking pera din ang napapasok nila sa bansa natin.

agree. tulad ko. ni hindi ako makalabas dito sa Metro Manila.
ni hindi nga ako makapunta sa kung saan-saang lugar dito. it's either tinatamad/abala ako o walang pera.
Ocean Park? maganda sana. pero hindi ko afford.
pano na yan? what's the sense to promote local tourism kung lahat naman talaga hindi ma-afford ang pagpunta sa mga tourist spot na yan?
mas maigi nga kung foreign tourist. mas malakas ang pasok ng pera. pero sa mga recent na nangyayari dito sa atin, medyo humina nga ang tourism natin. correct me dahil hindi ako updated sa mga nangyayari ...

..my take on this is..di kelangan ayusin ang isang bagay na di naman sira..Wow Philippines is actually ok and is almost tagalog or filipino. tingin ko kse, dapat natuto na sila sa pagkakamali sa 'Pilipinas Kay Ganda' kse as much as we want to make it sound filipino, mas effective pa rin kung language na maiintindihan ng foreign community, after all sa kanila naman naka-address ang tourism natin. If the Philippines would be featured for example in NatGeo, tapos nakalagay 'Pilipinas, Tara Na!' di makakarelate yung di naman pilipino na manonood..and one more thing, ni hindi  nga catchy tong tag na to..:(

pero WOW Philippines is the best wag na palitan.

ayusin na lang yun pag propromote nila ng WOW Philippines

anu ba pumasok sa mga kukote ng mga nagmamagaling na mga kumag na yan and why do we need to change the best slogan that we previously had for Dept of tourism.maiintindihan ba  ng mga foreigners ang slogan na yan eh ang main target nila is to invite foreigners to come ang visit our country. smoking::

I totally agree! the whole point of Tourism is to encourage people from other countries to visit the Philippines. May malaki pera mapapasok nila sa Tourism industry. At sa pag bisita nila sa bansa natin at nagkataon nagustuhan nila maginvest eh di nakatulong pa sa economiya natin. Hay! mga public officials talaga oh!
