Noong game 2 kilatis lang halos yung pagkakadikit ni devance kay kerby raymundo pero tinawagan ng foul, kanina yung tira ni devance saka ni willie miller nung huling possession tumaob na talaga sa pagkakabangga yung dalawa wala pa ring foul, pero ganoon talaga. Nangangamoy sweep talaga pero amoy pa lang yan hehehe... :-)

If you look at the basketball scene, PBA is the premier league. Every local talent will aim a roster spot in 10 PBA teams. Not only that, they have to battle against Fil-ams and other half breed Filipinos (I'm against it so I cheer for the least half breed infested teams - Purefoods!). A hundred and fifty players. That's it. All the local talents in the span of what  10 years? 10 draft classes squeeze into 150 man roster.

Now, take time to realize how much talent you must have to get into that. Look at how the difference of talent level between those players are distributed in each teams. Now, inside the PBA, there's a "sorting" happening. Not all teams can afford premier players. So you further squeeze the best to the top 9 teams? That's what 135 players of the last 10 years in 9 teams. What do you get? Players playing at high (equal) level.

There has been some inconsistencies regarding the officiating, but regardless, it won't change the outcome, it has been decided. I am a pure Alaska Fan way back, and i still believe. Sana lang Tim Cone wont whine, cause it will lead to nothing. Siyempre Alaska fan ako, kinukuwestyon mo yung foul ni Devance nung game 2 at yung drive ni Devance at Miller nung dying seconds kanina, dun mo malalaman na merong konting inconsistency in the referees part. Ang masakit lang eh 1 point lang ang lamang ng parehong game, pero andyan na yan, wala ng magagawa 3-0 na, ang magagawa na lang nating mga Alaska Fan eh wag sumuko at sumuporta hanggang huli! At sana lang wag ma foul trouble si Thoss, dahil pansin ko rin eh pag nadampi ang konting katawan ni Thoss sa purefoods player eh may pito agad. Wag susuko, itatag ang lakas ng Gatas! Hahaha!

kikomantot - OK I'm confused. How can you call it inconsistencies when all you cited were all the same side? Based on what you mentioned, its consistent. It's all in PF's favor. Another thing, Tim Cone should whine. He should lay it out there that he's disappointed with how the officials handled each game of the finals. Not only the coaching staff, the owners and players should bitch out if they really believe they lost the game because of missed and wrong calls. They should whine. They should complain. They should be firm and be dead on precise.

How about Miller's two late turnovers?

Game 2, Devance fouled Raymundo, pinatira muna nung referee si Kerby bago tumawag, kitang kita sa replay, nakababa na si Kerby nung tinawag yung foul. And the contact is even below minimal.

Game 3, Devance drove to the basket, 2 ang sumabay, can't remember who, there was a lot of contact, and there is no call. Dumugo pa ilong ni Miller, still no foul called.

Miller's two turn-overs? Simple. Breaks of the game. Sir 123kid, based on the info above, i think there is really an inconsistency in the refs part in the way that "They will call this kind of foul on Alaska but not on Purefoods". Ang Alaska madikit lang ng konti, foul.

And Tim Cone bitching out? Not this time, when he's down 0-3. Magpaplano na lang siya kesa mag reklamo. They are not Talk N Text afterall. Its Joaqui Trillo's job to whine and cry, not Cones.

@up - First of I would like to share my opinions on both events. In game 2, its clear from the replay that JDV went in Kerby's space. That's foul by definition and a specified guideline in a pump fake situation that if the defending player invade the offensive player's space then its automatically a foul -leaning forward as opposed to jumping straight. In game 3, again same situation this time it was Miller who has claim of the space since he was the one who jumped first. Reavis clearly initiated the bump after the shot was release. It's also a clear foul in the same principle of player's safety -ex.  putting a foot under a player who in the air. Both were fouls.

Now the argument or claim of the opposing public was the foul shouldn't have been called or the game should not have been decided like that, by the referees. In other words, it's a no call despite the minimal contact (still a contact). And that is what happened in the closing seconds of the game 3. They let the players decide the outcome of the game. The referees listened to the complaints and suggestions flooded off the should have been no call in game 2.

Solid ang front line namin kahit si Mr. Rico of the year pa lang hirap na hirap na alaska sa kanya plus #1 pa kami sa offense. isa pa during crucial stage hindi kami basta-basta natataranta & kinakabahan di gaya ng alaska nawawalann ng composure sa game. malas pa nila kasi kami may energy players kami like rico & ping na wala sila.

WTF? what kind of argument is this? referees should adhere to the rules and should never listened to outside pressures. In the NBA, referees doesn't call that kind of foul in devance in the dying seconds of the game, hence, the saying that the refs doesn't decide the outcome of a game but the  players. That kind of foul(or was that a foul on devance?) can be acceptable if it was committed in the earlier part of the game, but in the dying seconds? definitely a boo-boo, unless the foul was hard.
